Koraigad is a very old fort (before 14th century). The trek here is easier as compared to other forts. Kids enjoy the trek as it has stairs as well as small trail to climb. There is only maggi and water available, its not commercial yet so carry your water and food.

The best time to visit Korigad Fort is September to December as the temperatures are low.During rainy season you will get the best view but it becomes risky as there will be greater chances of slipping.
But with care you can manage to trek.
It is around 20 km south of lonavala in pune district.
You will have to take Ambey valley road from lonavala to reach there.
Korigad fort has the easiest trekking route and a good start for beginners.
It feels very fascinating to go trekking through the lush green forest and also it is safe.
It took us approximately 45 minutes to reach the peak and the view was breathtaking.
There's a small lake at the center of the fort, three elegant temples which are established at the notch of the peak.
The fort depicts the legacy of Maratha cultural established by Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and later conquered by the Britishers.
Remember to carry the needful like food, water etc as there is no facility available.
There are many adventurous places around the fort like magic mountain, tiger's point, bhaja caves, sunil's celebrity wax museum etc.
Overall a very good experience....just go when the weather is pleasant and not sunny!

Korigad is Few KM ahead of Famous "Tiger Point" in Lonavala. This was my second trek to KORIGAD previous one was almost eight years ago. Fort restoration is in command by ASI and It feels good that finally Heritage places is being taken care of.
There is Open parking ground were you can park Vehicle and start the trek. It is a easy trek and normally takes 1hr of time to reach the top. Stairs are there and are well paved too.
Overall this trek can be covered in half day of time if you are starting early from Pune.

Korigad is a fort near Lonavla located at 929m above sea level. It is an easy trek to reach to the top, starts on a muddy road, takes you through a jungle of Karvy, and then the 740-stepped-stairway leads you straight to heaven.
On the top, at first sight you are greeted with 2 beautiful lakes. Benches have been built on the strait between the lakes to just sit still and soak in the serenity. The fort walls and the main gate are still intact and well maintained, one can walk over the 2km wall! The view from the top is breathtaking to say the least. We visited on Monday September 30. Being a week day we had the fort to ourselves :)
A 10th grader from the base village accompanied us as a guide. It was a welcome break from his studies, he said, to visit his favoritest place and also get paid for it. We got the perfect weather with intermittent cloudy and clear skies and myriad of colorful and scented wild flowers in full bloom. On our way back we drove through fog to return back to the Machan. Honestly I didn't want this day to end.
