We wanted to take the Hop On Hop Off bus tour but it wasn't running on Sunday. Neither was the amphibious city tour. Those two things should have been a sign something was up! So we bought the self guided tour for $9. We were up and into the city early happy for sunny skies after a couple of rainy days. Heading to the stop closest to our campground first, we came to a road block. A bike race was happening that morning. We skipped the canal stop and went to the next stop on the map. Surprise! More road blocks and people were everywhere. We started noticing runners with number bibs. We got near stop #4 before giving up. I asked a runner walking on the sidewalk how long the race was. He asked me which race? When we gave up and went back to the campground we looked up the city calendar and there were 4 running races and 1 bike race being held in Ottawa that day! So I'm sure the audio tour was great but we didn't get to do it. I hope you got a good laugh reading this because we were laughing so hard being thwarted trying to do the tour! Luckily it was only a $9 loss and it was a beautiful day for all of those races!

The audio was not helpful at all. Very few facts were given. I had to google the information of each place we went. The same thing was said about each stop-repeating almost verbatim several sentences. We were so disappointed.

I assumed it was a self guiding tour of Legislation building. Because of the picture used for advertising this tour. We ended up not using it as it was not what we were interested in doing as we already saw many of the sights. Tried to get refund.

This tour is out of date. There are stops that no longer exist. The stops are very basic. Not much knowledge of there city is communicated.

Computer generated audio files, not a human reader. E Mail with links took 1,5h until received. Not worth it in my opinion

Don’t waste your money. I never received the link for the guide so lodged a refund request. Heard nothing a month later other than the trip advisor app saying it “has been escalated to customer service” whatever than means. Glad it was t expensive.. Seems like a scam.

This is a self-guided tour, with a number of sites that the tourist visits on their own and then listens to the recording about each site. The quality of the recording was low, not very informative, and very superficial. I have done other self-guided tours before so know what to expect, and have for the most part had positive experiences. This one did not meet my expectations in any way.

The audio comments for each site were very brief and basic. It would have been better if the audio included specific sights and details that the tourist might pay attention to as they were listening and participating in the tour. Instead, the audio seemed quite detached and not engaging at all. We ended up ditching it entirely after listening to the first 2 or so as it was not very helpful.

We have taken many tours in many cities all over the world; and this was by far the Worse! Tour guide said very little. We asked many questions and he didn’t know much of anything. This was an architecture tour... not one word of architecture was spoken... unless you count ‘old building’ as architecture terminology. Total waste of time and money. We’d give it 0 Stars if that was an option.

Our driver was flexible and shared historical insights. He even persuaded one of the on duty policemen at the Court to show us around the grounds of the courthouses. Got a good appreciation of many of the historical buildings which are in urgent need of repair. Do not think there have been any repairs since the Brits left. Had not appreciated that the main beach is the second longest after Miami. It is incredibly wide as well as long and surprisingly clean. Cricket stadium where the Chennai Superkings play stands out in an area where people live on the streets and the rubbish problem is immense. An interesting morning and it gave us a good feel for Chennai - old and new.

I Visited several places Kapaleeswarar Temples, SanThome Cathedral, Marina beach, University of Madras and Goverment musuem. And saw St. Goerge Fort, Goerge Town, railway station, various historical via the car. During this tour, I could experience way of praying at Hindu (though I can not enter the inner temple because I am not Hindu.) Driver provides recent history of this city (about flooding 4 years ago), lunch with using right hand only. He flexibly stopped the car to take photos so I could take cow's walking. Very nice tour and happy to select this.
