Singapore Editor

The Editor is required to manage and oversee content produced on Time Out Singapore’s digital, social platform and print platforms. This includes reviewing all content produced, such as articles, videos and photographs, working closely with the Managing Director and the Regional Commercial Director to develop content strategies and to represent the Time Out brand at social/industry events throughout the year. The Editor may also be required to assist with the content strategy and commissioning of freelancers for Time Out Kuala Lumpur, Penang and future sites in Malaysia.

Time Out Singapore is looking for an exceptional candidate with strong business acumen, excellent writing and proofreading skills, networking and interpersonal skills, and the ability to guide and manage the existing content team towards achieving their business goals.

We’re looking for someone who has experience in managing teams and has excellent writing and editorial skills. You will also need an understanding of data, an eye for detail, fresh ideas, hunger for this city, and are fluent with social, creative content and concepts. Lead Designer

Role overview
Have an eye for design and a passion for exploring and experiencing the best that Singapore has to offer? Here's your chance to work with a fun, young and dynamic team who love making the most of their city. Time Out Singapore is looking for a Lead Designer to join the creative time. This person will work with the editorial, design and commercial teams to produce creative assets across digital, print, social, and video projects.

Key responsibilities
● Work closely with the editorial and design departments to produce engaging content, and conduct photo/video shoots.
● Work independently and cooperatively on multiple projects with editorial, design and commercial teams, from planning to delivery.
● Update and maintain the internal design, photography and video database.
● Managing the in-house Videographer – provide direction and guidelines to ensure all content reflects Time Out’s brand and house style.
● Expand the video portfolio of Time Out Singapore across multiple platforms.
● Work closely with the creative solutions team to brainstorm and come up with innovative and proactive solutions.
● Assist with the conceptualisation and execution of events and creative projects by providing creative insight and direction.
● Adhere to project timelines – editorial, commercial and event – ensuring all important deadlines are met.
● Work closely with the commercial team to ensure that all aspects of the campaign align with the needs of the client.
● Maintain a network of talented, reliable freelancers and vendors for creative, video, and/or event production; managing freelancers as needed.
● Measure the performance of creative content and videos by the design team, as well as those supplied by editors, feeding back learnings through constant communication with all teams.
● Staying up-to-date on current and new design trends.

Requirements
● Candidate should have a minimum of three years experience in publication or creative agencies
● A diploma or degree in design and media, majoring in graphic design or any other related field
● Familiar with project management tools (Slack, Trello, CMS etc.)
● Excellent knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and iMac platform skills.
● Knowledge of Ceros (Interactive content design platform) is a plus.
● Good aesthetic sense, creative thinking, and attention to detail.
● Excellent discipline, organisational skills, time management, communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to work on multiple projects at a given time.
● Self-motivated, solution-oriented and a can-do attitude
● Video editing or motion graphic experience is a plus

Editorial intern

Social media intern

If you're all about the 'gram and TikTok, then we want you. To keep audiences engaged and inspired, we're looking for a social media intern to help grow Time Out's presence across Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. The ideal candidate is on top of the latest trends, and most importantly, able to translate them into content that's entertaining, impactful, and relevant to our readers. You'll also have great organisational skills and an eye for detail, working alongside the team to create and schedule posts on our various platforms daily. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the editorial team to plan, schedule and post content on a regular basis
  • Create social media posts and reels and craft engaging copy under supervision 
  • Spot the latest trends and pitch fresh ideas to implement on social media
  • Source for user-generated content for reposting on Instagram
  • Respond to comments, private messages and DMs on social media accounts

Video intern

For those with an eye for cinematography, look no further. Our video intern will assist our editorial team to bring story ideas to life. You'll also get to experience the realm of photography – assisting with photo shoots and exploring the city and producing videos for Time Out's social channels. The ideal candidate should have a relevant diploma or degree in design and video production and should be a pro at Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Premiere Pro.
