Patrick Adams, 59, and Constance Adams, 55 – wanted by police in connection with an attempted murder in Islington, London – face extradition

A husband and wife, relatives of an infamous crime family, have been arrested in connection with an attempted murder.

Patrick Adams, 59, and Constance Adams, 55, face extradition from the Netherlands having been held by Dutch authorities on Friday when a European arrest warrant was issued on behalf of the Metropolitan police.

The couple are wanted in connection with an attempted murder in Islington, north London, in December 2013, Scotland Yard said.

A 51-year-old man was shot in the chest as he sat in his black BMW X5 car after being approached by a man and a woman.

He was taken by the London ambulance service to an east London hospital where he was treated for his injuries for more than a month.

The police are waiting for the couple to be extradited to England.
