Three people have been arrested in the May killing of a 16-year-old Zachary High student, District Attorney Tony Clayton confirmed Monday.
Michael Anderson, 21, of Baker, Brandon Bell, 22, of Ventress, and Dylan Bell, 19, of Ventress were arrested Monday by New Roads police on a principal to second-degree murder count for the shooting death of Jonathon Johnson Jr., Clayton said.
Johnson was found with gunshot wounds behind a New Roads house just before 3 a.m. May 19. According to Clayton, there were signs the teenager took off running and fell.
Johnson was New Roads Mayor Theron Smith's grandson by marriage.

Jonathon Johnson Jr., 16, was shot and killed in New Roads, officials say.
Smith said that Johnson, who was known to family and friends as Jay, enjoyed football and played on the freshman football team at Zachary High with aspirations to play on the varsity team.
The investigation is ongoing, and additional arrests are possible, Clayton said.
"Everyone involved will be arrested. Even if you're not the shooter, and you're involved, you are going to jail and facing life in prison," Clayton said.
Clayton urged parents to monitor their teens' social activity and internet.
"Help me not put your kid in jail. Let's stop the killing," he said.
