Update Friday evening: Man charged with manslaughter in hit-and-run that killed woman in Clay

Update at 10:50 a.m.: A man is in police custody Friday in connection with a hit and run that killed a woman on Rt. 57 in Clay, sheriff’s office spokesperson Thomas Newton said.

The woman has been identified as Madison Faltisco, 22, of Liverpool, Newton said.

She graduated from the Institute of Technology at Syracuse Central in 2018, according to Syracuse.com | The Post-Standard archives.

Clay, N.Y. —- A person who was hit by a car that left the scene in Clay Thursday night has died, the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed.

At 5:06 a.m. Friday, deputies responded to the call in front of the Seneca Savings branch at 7799 Oswego Road, according to Onondaga 911 Center dispatch reports.

A woman, in her early 20s, was hit by a car that left the scene, sheriff’s office spokesperson Thomas Newton said. She died from her injuries, he said.

About seven sheriff’s vehicles, a crime scene van and investigators are on the scene. Crime scene tape blocked off the side of the road.

Oswego Road between Rosewood Place and Wetzel Road is currently closed. Deputies asked drivers to avoid the area.

Clarification: The woman was hit by a car on Thursday night not on Friday as originally reported. Her body was found on Friday. The story has been updated.
