NRL injury list 2024: Your club’s medical news, casualty ward, player return dates

The business end of the NRL season has arrived with a host of injuries to key players rocking the competition.

Mitch Moses and Latrell Mitchell are the latest major additions to their club's casualty wards, with the duo set for extended periods on the sideline along with Nicho Hynes and Josh Addo-Carr. 

However, it's not all doom and gloom with Cameron Munster set to return this week, alongside a host of Origin stars who were rested in Round 20.  

The Sporting News provides all the latest injury news from across the NRL.

Broncos injury news:

Brendan Piakura limped from the field in Round 20 after suffering a groin injury. He hasn't been named in the starting side this week although has been included in the extended squad. 

Selwyn Cobbo didn't back up from Origin after suffering groin soreness. He will return on the wing this week. 

Fletcher Baker has been sidelined with a knee injury he suffered during his side's loss in Round 17. 

Jack Gosiewski suffered a broken arm just a few minutes into his side's game against the Warriors in Round 17. He is expected to be out for two months.  

Jock Madden suffered a torn hamstring against the Panthers in Round 18 and is likely to be sidelined for an extended period. 

Ben Te Kura's season could be over after suffering a Lisfranc injury. He has been ruled out indefinitely.

Raiders injury news: 

Nick Cotric will return from an ankle injury this week via the NSW Cup. 

Chevy Stuart has suffered an ankle injury which is set to sidelined him for the next month. 

Pasami Saulo was sidelined in Round 9 due to a lower back injury with the forward still out indefinitely. 

Corey Harawira-Naera's future remains clouded. Ricky Stuart claimed the forward was facing early retirement after suffering a seizure last season.

Bulldogs injury news:   

Josh Addo-Carr is nearing a return after suffering a hamstring injury during his side's Round 13 win over the Knights. 

Jaeman Salmon suffered a fractured jaw during Canterbury's golden-point victory over the Warriors in Round 18. He is expected to be sidelined for up to six weeks. 

Blake Taaffe is facing up to two months on the sidelines after suffering a syndesmosis injury. 

Max King isn't expected to return this year after suffering a wrist injury in Round 18. 

Ryan Sutton suffered a knee injury upon his return to action via the NSW Cup in Round 17 and will miss the rest of the season.  

Karl Oloapu will miss the entire season with a serious neck injury.

Sharks injury news:  

Jack Williams was ruled out in Round 19 due to a wrist injury but has been included in the extended squad this week. 

Sifa Talakai has served a one-match ban for a high tackle during his side's Round 18 loss to the Titans and will return this week. 

Will Kennedy has been issued with a one-match ban for coming into contact with the referee during his side's Round 19 match. 

Nicho Hynes has been ruled out for approximately two months after suffering a syndesmosis rupture and a fractured tibia in training ahead of Round 19. 

Jesse Colquhoun ruptured his ACL in Round 19 and will miss the rest of the season, in what was his first appearance for the Sharks this year after overcoming a foot problem.

Kade Dykes has been ruled out for the rest of the campaign after struggling with a knee injury. 

Dale Finucane suffered a fractured eye socket in Round 3 in what proved to be his final game in the NRL, as he announced his retirement ahead of Round 8.

Dolphins injury news:  

Kurt Donoghoe has one week left to serve of a three-match ban after being cited for a high tackle in Round 17. 

Jeremy Marshall-King suffered a fractured foot during his side's Round 17 loss to the Dragons. He will miss up to 10 weeks. 

Euan Aitken suffered a ruptured pec against the Rabbitohs in Round 19 which has ruled him out for the rest of the year. 

Tom Flegler will miss the remainder of the season after continuing to struggle with a shoulder issue. 

Tom Gilbert suffered a devastating blow in the final trial of the pre-season when he went down with an ACL injury.

Titans injury news: 

AJ Brimson made his return from a long-term groin injury in Round 19 but did not play last week after struggling with soreness. He remains out. 

Jaimin Jolliffe suffered a pec injury in the opening minutes of his side's loss to the Knights at Magic Round. He is now nearing a return to action.  

Tino Fa'asuamaleaui suffered a ruptured ACL in Round 3 and will miss the remainder of the campaign.

Sea Eagles injury news: 

Haumole Olakau'atu has been issued with a two-match ban for his involvement in a melee during Origin III. 

Matthew Lodge suffered a biceps injury during his side's loss to the Broncos in Round 10 but is nearing a return in the next month.  

Tolu Koula had surgery after suffering an MCL injury during his side's victory over the Cowboys in Round 18. He will be sidelined for six weeks.  

Lehi Hopoate suffered a fractured eye socket in the Round 20 win over the Titans and is expected to miss up to six weeks. 

Lachlan Croker suffered a neck injury in Round 9 and remains sidelined indefinitely. 

Jake Arthur suffered a stress fracture in his foot and has been ruled out for four months, which effectively ends his season.

Storm injury news: 

Bronson Garlick failed to finish the match in Round 18 after being sidelined with a back injury and remains out. 

Grant Anderson suffered a knee injury in the final play of the game in his side's win over the Roosters last week. However, he has been named to start this week. 

Christian Welch was a late withdrawal in Round 20 due to a back complaint but will return via the bench in Round 21. 

Nelson Asofa-Solomona suffered a hamstring issue during his side's match against the Tigers in Round 18. After a false start last week, he has been named on the bench in Round 21. 

Cameron Munster aggravated a groin injury during his side's win over Parramatta at Magic Round. After close to two months out, he is a chance of returning after being included in the reserves this week. 

Alec MacDonald has picked up a shoulder issue which will sideline him until Round 22. 

Xavier Coates suffered a hamstring injury in the closing stages of his side's win over the Raiders in Round 17 and will miss up to two months. 

Joe Chan has been hit with a two-match suspension for a high tackle and will return in Round 23. 

Young Tonumaipea remains sidelined indefinitely with a calf injury. 

Jonah Pezet suffered an ACL injury while playing in reserve grade and has been ruled out for the remainder of the year.

Knights injury news: 

Bradman Best lasted just a few minutes of his side's clash against the Broncos in Round 20 before pulling up with a hamstring injury. The centre could now be ruled out for the rest of the campaign. 

Adam Elliott was a late withdrawal in Round 20 after suffering a calf issue. 

Brodie Jones exited his team's Round 19 match early following a head knock. He is likely to return after the club's bye in Round 22. 

Enari Tuala limped off during Newcastle's win over Canberra in Round 18 with a calf tear.

Warriors injury news:

Taine Tuaupiki has been ruled out this week after failing a HIA in Round 20. 

Adam Pompey suffered a knee injury during his side's loss to the Raiders in Round 20 with no time scale for his return provided yet. 

Marcelo Montoya succumbed to a thigh injury in Round 18 and remains sidelined. 

Shaun Johnson has been out since suffering an Achilles injury during his side's loss to the Titans in Round 16. He is likely to return in Round 22.  

Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad limped from the field with a calf strain late in the first half of his side's Round 18 clash with the Dogs. He is scheduled to return next week. 

Rocco Berry suffered a shoulder injury during his side's clash against Melbourne in Round 15. He has been ruled out indefinitely. 

Luke Metcalf left the field in Round 4 after suffering a fractured leg and is out indefinitely. 

Tohu Harris dropped out of the Round 18 clash against the Dogs after continuing to suffer with a wrist issue. The veteran forward has since had surgery which has prematurely ended his season.

Cowboys injury news: 

Murray Taulagi missed Origin III and Round 20 after picking up a hamstring injury in Round 18. He has been named in the extended squad this week as he bids to return. 

Jamayne Taunoa-Brown suffered an Achilles injury last year and remains out indefinitely. 

Zac Laybutt suffered an ACL tear against the Titans in Round 5, which will see him miss the remainder of the season.  

Coen Hess suffered an ACL injury in his side's final trial match against Canberra. He will be sidelined for the season.

Eels injury news: 

Daejarn Asi failed to finish his side's Round 19 clash after picking up a leg injury, but has been named to start this week. 

Haze Dunster is nearing a return from a foot injury, which has sidelined him for an extended period. 

Kelma Tuilagi copped a five-match ban after electing to scrap his trip to the judiciary, where he was going to seek a downgrade for his dangerous throw charge, in Round 15. The backrower is expected to be out for six weeks due to a thumb injury. 

Maika Sivo suffered a hamstring injury in Round 17 which is set to see him sidelined for around six weeks. 

Junior Paulo suffered a Lisfranc injury in his right foot during his side's Round 18 loss to the Bunnies. He is expected to be out for between 8-10 weeks. 

J'maine Hopgood has been ruled out for up to three months after undergoing surgery on a lower back injury. He is unlikely to return for the rest of the season. 

Charlie Guymer suffered an ankle injury in Round 19 and will miss the remainder of the campaign. 

Mitch Moses suffered a ruptured biceps during Origin III, which has ruled him out for the rest of the season. 

Bailey Simonsson suffered an ACL injury which will see him miss the remainder of the year. 

Richard Penisini will miss the entirety of the campaign after suffering an ACL injury in pre-season training, while Arthur Miller-Stephen's has also been ruled out for the season with a knee injury.

Panthers injury news:

Paul Alamoti suffered a broken arm during his side's win over the Dolphins in Round 20. 

Luke Garner was set to return last week after missing the past month with a hamstring injury. Although he has was a late withdrawal and remains out in Round 21. 

Jack Cole has missed the past two weeks due to a calf injury but has been included in the extended squad in Round 21. 

Isaah Yeo wasn't named to back up after the Origin decider but will return this week. 

Brian To'o, Jarome Luai and Liam Martin were also rested after the Origin decider but will return this week. 

Dylan Edwards suffered a knee injury in the Origin decider which could sideline him for up to one month.

Jesse McLean suffered a collarbone injury while playing in NSW Cup in Round 20 and isn't expected to return until the finals.

Bunnies injury news:

Richard Kennar was ruled out of his side's Round 20 clash early in the first half after suffering a concussion. 

Dean Hawkins suffered a quad injury during his side's Round 9 clash against the Panthers but is now nearing a return.  

Cameron Murray has one game still to serve of his suspension which stemmed from his involvement in the Origin III melee. 

Latrell Mitchell suffered a foot injury during his side's Round 18 win over the Eels. He does not require surgery at this time, with the club aiming for a return in a month. 

Tyrone Munro has experienced another extended spell on the sidelines after suffering a collarbone injury in Round 6. Although he is now nearing a return to action. 

Jai Arrow will miss the remainder of the season after undergoing surgery for a shoulder injury. 

Campbell Graham missed the first five months of the campaign after suffering a sternum injury and will not play this year. 

Isaiah Tass will miss the remainder of the season after undergoing surgery on his ankle. 

Lachlan Ilias suffered a fractured leg while playing in the NSW Cup and will not play again this season. 

Tevita Tatola isn't expected to return this year after fracturing his foot earlier in the season.

Joseph Suaalii suffered a head knock in the closing exchanges of his side's loss to the Storm but is expected to be fine for this week.

Junior Pauga was sent off at the end of the win over the Bulldogs in Round 16 for a careless high tackle and will have to serve a four-match ban.

Jared Waerea-Hargreaves has been banned for four matches after failing to downgrade a careless high tackle charge at the judiciary. 

Billy Smith injured his ankle while playing NSW Cup earlier in the season and will be sidelined indefinitely after requiring surgery. 

Egan Butcher suffered a knee injury during his side's win over the Raiders in Round 12. The forward ruptured his ACL and will miss the remainder of the year.

Tigers injury news: 

David Klemmer has been ruled out this week with an ankle issue, while Justin Olam remains sidelined with a knee issue. 

Alex Seyfarth will return this week after recovering from a head knock in Round 19. 

Isaiah Papali'i suffered an ankle injury as a result of a dangerous tackle in Round 12 but has been named to return this week. 

Api Koroisau has been hampered with a calf issue that saw him miss Round 20. However, he is set to be back on deck this week. 

Adam Doueihi has been rested in Round 21 as the club seek to manage his workload. 

Aidan Sezer has been hit with a two-match ban for a dangerous tackle in Round 20.
