This app has saved my (proverbial) bacon so many times.
Even if scripting isn't your day job, there's plenty of examples in Adaptavist's ScriptRunner library you can learn from (a more reliable source than Atlassian Community, which may have scripts that don't apply to your Jira instance, or are simply outdated).
The built-in scripts are fantastic for the day-to-day of a typical Jira admin. Being able to (1) bulk change Resolution values, (2) bulk copy a custom field value into another custom field (good for consolidating fields), and (3) bulk re-assign Issue Filter, Dashboard, and Board ownership from one user to another saves endless hours of tedious work.

Dear Adaptavist team,
I want to express my appreciation for the ScriptRunner plugin. It has been an essential tool in helping us achieve our business goals and that of all my clients. If I had to choose only one Jira plugin, it would be ScriptRunner because it is a multi-purpose tool that fills the gaps where Jira mostly lacks functionality.
I have used ScriptRunner on several cloud instances, and it's always the first Jira add-on I install. It's a critical add-on that provides Jira with versatility beyond my expectations. I'm grateful to have such a powerful tool at my disposal.
Additionally, I have had the pleasure of receiving excellent support from the cloud support team. They have been patient in helping me understand groovy scripts and have provided me with invaluable insights on how to make the most of ScriptRunner. I'm impressed by their willingness to go above and beyond to help me achieve my goals.
The Adaptavist plugin is one of the best among all Jira/Confluence plugin vendors. Thank you for making complicated Jira Automation scenarios possible. You have genuinely helped me streamline business processes and increase productivity.
The only limitation is the script time threshold of 240 seconds, which sometimes limits its capabilities. Unfortunately, it limits batch processing and adds additional (unnecessary) complexity to scripts. ScripRunner will be the ultimate add-on with unlimited comparison if the execution time threshold can be removed or increased to at least 10 minutes instead of the current 4 minutes.

Scriptrunner helps us advance Jira in respect to our agile way of working, e.g. setting up a WSJF or risk calculating field.
I guess we're not using it to the fullest, we could do so much more with this great addon! Also their extensive library is really cool.
