I work with people who are experiencing challenges around anxiety, depression, sex, intimacy, and trauma. I am particularly drawn to clients who are committed to personal growth and want to deepen their experience of life. I truly believe that we all have the capacity to lead fuller lives with more ease and a greater sense of safety. I have been a social worker for more than 20 years and live in Seattle with my family. I identify as gay, white and cis-male and enjoy working with couples, including those in open and poly relationships.

My practice is deeply influenced by mindfulness and cognitive approaches. I aim to help my clients work with their emotions and feelings with wisdom and in alignment with their best intentions. I feel change is possible when we fully understand how we feel, without shame and self-judgment, and work to maintain our equanimity amidst intense feelings.
The therapist-client relationship should be grounded in trust, compassion, and safety. My goal is to help clients be kinder to themselves, challenge their (often negative) assumptions about themselves, and move to deeper self-acceptance and strength. Finally, I aim to make space for the suffering, as well as joy and laughter of life, in therapy sessions.
