With a background as a Certified School Counselor and extensive experience in the school setting, I have a deep understanding of the unique struggles faced by students and young adults. I specialize in working with individuals who grapple with anxiety disorders, self-esteem issues, and ADHD. It requires the use of one’s whole self—body, mind, emotion and spirit. We also all need community to do the work of healing. Finding a trusted counselor can be one such communal support as you move through the process of excavating who you really are from beneath confusing and toxic layers of culture, religion, family messages, trauma, and unhealthy beliefs about yourself and others.

Our treatment approach is based on over 20 years of providing testing and treatment services. In every case, our primary treatment goal is to help clients develop the necessary skills to improve health, academic performance, day-to-day functioning and sense of well-being and self-efficacy. The path from growing up quietly queer in a small Midwestern town to living as an out lesbian in the 4th largest city in the country has informed my work within the LGBTQ+ community. I believe that knowledge is an integral part of building acceptance and pride in oneself and the community, and I am eager to continue working with people in all stages of the coming out process. Most recently, my focus has been on HIV prevention and treatment; I am passionate about working with clients who are at high risk for exposure, entering treatment, or working to maintain viral suppression.
