Different perspectives often add insight and lead one to emotionally healthy solutions.
Stressors and negative emotions can have us all feeling overwhelmed at times. Are you triggered by certain words, or situations? Do you find yourself thinking about or reliving trauma from the past? If the answer is yes to either of the two, let's work together to discover a solution. Anxiety, anger issues, depression, relationship issues, and trauma have all increased over the last decade. Talking to a professional can help navigate life's difficult moments.

Some of my experiences include Mood Disorders, Anxiety, ADHD, behavioral issues, trauma, suicide, grief, family conflicts, parenting problems, school adjustments and Adjustment Disorder.
“Imperfections are not inadequacies; they are reminders that we are all in this together” is one my favorite quotes from Brene Brown. I believe that the therapy is a collaborative experience between therapist and the client. I want to create a safe space for my clients to share their stories, be their authentic self, engage in creative expression and heal.

To add to this, I have had the pleasure of helping others work through the grieving process.

Do you need help in dealing with relational matters? I'd like to help you if you are. I am more than willing to help lighten your emotional load, and offer help for today and hope for tomorrow. There is hope! I look forward to hearing from you.

I received my LPC in 2005. I feel privileged to have an opportunity to help you! When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. I am here to help you to make your pitcher of lemonade. We are always facing adversity in life, but some of us need help to deal with life's challenges. I am here to use the skills that I learned over the years to help you to face your challenges. These past couple of years have been very tough on us and I am not sure if we're ever going to get to our normal routine again.

Making healthy connected relationships in our continually disconnecting world is a vital approach in my practice. I work with children, adolescents and young adults to better understand their emotional state while also addressing unwanted emotional and/or behavioral reactions. Engaging parents, especially those of younger children, is very important to me. I also enjoy working with young adults who are dealing with phase of life issues, anxiety and mild depression. Let's work together to think more clearly, express emotions more appropriately and respond to our environment with better awareness.

Through Psycho-educational testing we can investigate academic concerns, such as learning problems and dyslexia, as well as developmental concerns, such as intellectual and developmental disabilities. We offer counseling too

For 20 years, I have helped children and their families cope with bad things that sometimes happen in a child's life. This includes abuse, divorce, school issues, loss of a loved one, or low self-esteem. I understand the ripple effects that these can have on family members and how hard it is to watch your child struggle. I use a neuroscience-informed approach to create a safe environment for clients to release the emotional pain in a way that makes the most effective use of your time.

ADHD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?

You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?

Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

Are there specific medications for ADHD?

Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?

It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
