I focus on trauma, depression, anxiety, attachment difficulties, & relationship/family issues. My ideal client would be open to change and exploring more positive ways to see themselves. My ideal client would be someone that values our time together and is present for sessions. My ideal client would be someone who can reflect from within and be willing to do the work, with a sincere desire to change their lifestyle. This client would be flexible and willing to see the other side of the coin, exploring the past and delving into the present.

Currently, I am taking virtual clients from PA, NJ, and CT. In our sessions, I am curious about your story, your experiences, and what brings you to therapy. In our work together we explore your lived experiences through story. Your stories help us understand “the problem” in unique and remarkable ways. We collaborate to identify skills, values, and beliefs that will assist in developing a new perspective on the problem. In the words of Narrative Therapy’s founders, “the problem is the problem, not the person.”

On the surface everything is “fine” but underneath is there an inner critic that rails against you all day? You want to unload your shame and anxiety, but not sure how? As an Asian-American therapist who sees the therapeutic relationship as a powerful instrument of change, I see therapy as a sacred site to bear witness to and support the whole person lingering in and around the thresholds of life. It’s a space where you are seen and accepted for who you are, where we can safely untangle generational wounds, shame, perfectionism, internalized invisibility, and find the courage to explore, learn, and tend to the messiness of life.

Throughout my therapeutic training, I've engaged with diverse communities, including college students, first-generation college attendees, BIPOC individuals, and Asian Americans, within community mental health settings. Proficient in English, Urdu, and Pashto, I conduct therapy sessions in these languages. My approach emphasizes collaboration, focusing on nurturing healthy coping mechanisms and amplifying strengths to construct a personalized toolkit for use beyond therapy sessions.

I believe you know yourself better than anyone else. I also believe humans are built for connection, and when you find a therapist that is the right fit for your needs, therapy can be healing. I specialize in working with anxiety, relationship challenges, sexuality/identity exploration, past/childhood trauma, and attachment healing, though I am here to support you with any topics you choose to bring to session. I encourage safety and empowerment with my clients, compassionately challenging them to work toward their individual goals and embrace their intuitive sense of self.

I think of the therapeutic relationship as a workshop where clients can plan, tinker, experiment, test, and refine parts of themselves, their relationships, and their lives with my unwavering support. It's a place and time where we can collaborate on what might need to change, what tools are necessary for the task, and on the ways it might begin to unfold. I create and hold a safe place for clients to ponder, practice, and consider change-- especially when they struggle to maintain that space for themselves. As a trauma informed practitioner, I am able to ground and contain intense affect to help clients feel held.

Life's a bitch and then you die. For many of us, this is not just a hook to a classic song but a "fact of life". And if you are reading this, chances are this feeling applies to you. And there are so many factors play a part in why life is so hard. In my time as a therapist, I have had so many emerging adults(18-25) reach out to me with feelings of anxiety and depression about their current lives and the feeling of hopelessness about their future. And I get it because I was that emerging adult many, many years ago. It may not be "life" that's a bitch, but just past or present moments that we currently struggle with.

Making the decision to enter therapy can be stressful. Allow me to join and help you. I believe people are born to thrive. However, there are times our emotional suffering (stress, anger, depression, or anxiety) make us feel stuck. Just like the warning signs on the dashboard, our emotions inform us when there are things in life need our attention. It can be things within ourselves (such as, self-confidence or self-expectations) or things happened to us (such as, trauma or loss). My work is to give attention to where it is needed.
