My individual work covers such topics as anxiety, depression, trauma, bereavement, gay and lesbian issues, life transitions, career challenges and relationship struggles.
I have been very privileged to work with wonderful clients over my twenty years of clinical practice. I have the utmost respect for my clients as they take the first step in reaching out for help. Dissatisfaction, unfulfillment and unhappiness in one's life is a great burden for anyone to carry. In my sessions, I work collaboratively and diligently with my clients to understand where they are in their lives and what is it they want to achieve. Through a dynamic and thoughtfully guided process we work together to move beyond the status quo and reach new and more satisfying ways of experiencing oneself.

I believe that everyone should live their life without judgement, fear or distress. Developing trust with your therapist is the most important first step in a therapeutic relationship. Once trust and rapport has been established, I will work with you to develop the goals of therapy. If you are having difficulties with a past trauma, abuse, neglect, domestic violence, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem and career or life transitions. I am here to help you build management and coping skills. A vast majority of my experience has been working with individuals that have an array of social and behavioral difficulties.

In addition to my postgraduate training, I bring over a decade of experience of working in finance before changing career paths.
Often when clients begin the process of looking for a therapist, they find themselves in a place where something is no longer working for them. This place can be overwhelming, and they may feel stuck or hopeless but can’t always pinpoint the reason. As their therapist, I provide a safe space to listen to their story and explore what brought them in. Through the work of therapy, clients begin to discover the roots of their patterns and behaviors and how they can be reworked over time. I work with individuals going through life transitions whose struggles include relationship issues, anxiety, depression and trauma.

A wealth of life experience informs my practice of psychotherapy bringing insight into lifecycle issues, struggles in finding oneself through a meaningful career, finding one’s partner, parenting, caring for aging family members as well as grief and loss.
How do we deeply explore the difficult parts of ourselves with self-compassion and acceptance, while at the same time stretching to grow, evolve, and heal? Can we dare to live our lives in a way that realizes our full potential and what holds us back from doing so? It can be difficult to explore this all alone. In a gentle, nonjudgmental, and collaborative way, I provide support for my clients on their journey to become more fully themselves.

Anxiety, depression, grief, chronic illness, cultural stress, career counseling, parenting, men’s issues are just a few of the specialties I work with. Most of us go through life with uncontrolled thoughts allowing our minds to dictate perceptions and meaning to situations we encounter, often in unproductive and/or distressful ways.

I specialize in the treatment of anxiety, depression, anger management, trauma, relationship issues, grief and loss, work-life balance, acculturation, career counseling, parenting, divorce, and other life transitions.
People who come to therapy want a safe place to openly discuss problems or recurring themes in their lives that they don’t feel they can talk about fully and freely with other people. But they don’t just want to talk. They want active help thinking through where things have gone wrong, where their blind-spots might be, and what they can do to get to a better place – a place that not only feels livable, but actively good. They want to have good relationships, self-respect and self-esteem, a sense of optimism and bravery, and a feeling that they can take on whatever the world throws at them.

I believe that therapy is a space for getting in touch with your life, exploring what's led you to this moment, and envisioning a future that you can believe in. Drawing from my previous career in improvised music, I'm particularly interested in creatively exploring issues such as perfectionism, anxiety, low self-esteem, gender roles and socialization, relationships, spirituality, and creating purpose.

Transitions can range from becoming a parent for the first time, loss of a loved one, change in relationship or job status and even leaving home for the first time to attend college.
Talking helps. By talking we create opportunities for change, we enhance our ability to find satisfaction in our work and in our relationships and we become better able to resolve conflicts and alleviate the physical and emotional tension created when we feel anxious or depressed. As a therapist in private practice since 2001 I have learned that the client has the answers; it is up to the therapist to ask the right questions. I have also learned that having a safe place to talk creates the environment needed for each of us to become our own agents of change.
