My ideal client will have a desire for change, and may have anxiety and or depression, or may be suffering from PTSD. My ideal client may have been through a substance abuse treatment program and has been unable to maintain long term recovery. My ideal client may have legal or welfare issues that will not be resolved unless they seek an evaluation or substance abuse counseling. My client maybe skeptical about recovering but is willing to look at themselves and try therapy. My clients are usually adults, but I do work with children and teens.

We assist all clients - those with addiction, depression, anxiety, smoking problem, dual diagnoses, schizoaffective disordered clients and other psychotic conditions.
Do your friends tell you that you need to cut down the amount you drink, or use? Often awake when you'll be asleep? Don't have enough energy to even eat sometimes? Are you often lonely and stressed? Are you often angry? Do you see or hear things other people don't see or hear? I can help you. My clinical style is to meet you where you're, understand your strengths, needs, weaknesses, stuck points and treat you considering the mind, body and spirit (Holistic). I apply respect, collaboration, encouragement, and sensitivity in working with clients. I take your cultural world view into consideration when working with you.

The beauty of our minds is amazing; however, we can also be enslaved by our minds as well. This enslavement can be in the form of an addiction to drugs and alcohol which often times we walk through that door and want to get out, we shake that knob in desperation but there is no way out. As a result, we feel hopeless and just stuck. Mental health issues are the same as well and often times we suffer in silence as a result of it. It is time to stop the suffering. My name is Chiante' Josiah Jemison (C.J.) and it will be a pleasure to be a part of your healing journey.

Hello I am Marcia Hadley, LCSW. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state Nevada and Utah. I started working in mental health in 2001. I like to encourage a sense of curiosity and humor when working. I find that not only have my client’s been through tremendous struggles they are wanting to find genuine connections. The one thing I have realized is that people want to do their best. Sometimes we just need some love, kindness, and compassion to help us along the way. I believe it is important to have a strong, trusting, therapeutic relationship which allows people to live their best life.

Having worked as a substance use counselor since the beginning of the pandemic, I understood the importance of medication-assisted treatment and harm reduction approaches alongside counseling. I saw how counseling made such a big impact on a person, especially for someone dealing with addictions. Taking care of our mental health is important, whether we are dealing with big changes or just unloading some of the struggles that we experience daily. Therapy can help us learn how to have better relationships, set healthy boundaries, and help us have a healthy work- life balance.

I have been counseling adolescents, children, and adults since 2010 to overcome substance use disorders, trauma, depression, anxiety and more. Therapy involves active participation from the client and the therapist so that the focus of therapy is always on the client and his/her goals. Sometimes clients know exactly what they need out of therapy; other times the client discovers new goals to achieve over the course of a few sessions. Therapy has the potential to help you better understand yourself and how you experience the world.

Most physical injuries heal and become painless in time. Emotional scars, on the other hand, can run deep and continue to show up in ways you cannot understand and are not prepared to handle. Depression, worry, fatigue, anxiety, relationship issues, and addiction are just some of the many ways deep hurts can continue to haunt you. In some cases, the fallout can be life-altering and debilitating. Like anything worthwhile, it can be a complicated and difficult process to figure it all out. My approach to counseling does not rely on any one "model" or a simple textbook formula.

10+ years as a CADC has taught me how to help clients uncover the underlying issues that contributed to the addiction.
Hello, my name is Lora. I’m a Clinical Mental Health student therapist in training at Perceptions Counseling Center of Southern Nevada. I am currently completing my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling degree. I understand how stressful life can be and it can feel like we are carrying the weight of the world on our shoulders. Sometimes we just need help to unpack and process life's challenges.

Are you struggling with substance use? Have you gone from partying with friends to indulging in your addiction alone? Is AA not your thing? Treating substance use involves two things- changing the actual substance use itself and addressing the reasons for use in the first place. Most places that treat addiction treat one or the other- but we will do both. This gives you the long term results that you're after!

What is the best therapy for addiction?

Addiction treatment will be tailored to the individual. People seeking help for addiction—whether with a psychotherapist, in an outpatient clinic, or in a residential program—should expect to engage in multiple types of treatments, sometimes including medication. For anyone recovering from addiction, avoiding situations in which one has typically used a substance is essential, as is the support of close connections. Since substance use disorders tend to co-occur with underlying mental health conditions such as anxiety or depression, those must also be addressed as part of any recovery plan.

How long does therapy for addiction take?

There is no set timeline for recovery from addiction. Patients and their families should expect the work to last several months, if not longer. Residential treatment programs may be based on a stay of 30, 60, or 90 days, with continuing work after release, but only about 1 percent of people are treated in such facilities. Ceasing use is just the first step; therapy to help maintain abstinence and effect behavior change must follow. The process of recovery, neuroscience has shown, involves brain cells recovering the capacity to respond to natural sources of reward and restore control over the impulse to use. Another definition of recovery is restoring voluntary control over one’s substance use and retaking all of one’s previous responsibilities.

How effective is drug addiction treatment?

Substance use disorders are treatable and remission is achievable for many who seek recovery; by some estimates, more than three-quarters of people who become addicted to alcohol or drugs recover. But that success rarely occurs quickly or on a set timeline; relapse is not only common, but many therapists and clinicians view it as a normal part of the process—not always a sign that a person has returned to addiction, but a signal that their treatment should be adjusted to help them regain control. Overall, research suggests, five years after the end of substance use, one’s risk of relapse is no greater than that of others who had not faced addiction. Other experts believe that complete abstinence is not the only measure of recovery, and that, through effective treatment, many people can learn to control their use.

How can you get addiction treatment for someone?

The most important factor in recovery from addiction is widely understood to be an individual’s commitment to change. For that reason,“interventions” in which friends and family gather to urge or force someone to begin immediate treatment often backfire; even when such efforts do lead someone to begin treatment, they may be less likely to stay than those who are self-driven. Still, family members can play an important role in supporting an individual who seeks help and can take part in family therapy as one element of a loved one’s treatment.
