The Spartan Veterans Program at Desert Winds Recovery Center provides an intimate treatment experience that supports Veterans whose lives have changed and become unmanageable due to substance use, post- traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and co-occurring mental health disorders. Our small 10-bed program allows our staff to put each Veteran at the center of his/her program with the understanding that they are the experts in their life's values, goals, and priorities.

We partner with a university to provide advanced cognitive testing, imaging scans and lab tests. Each treatment plan is designed by our interdisciplinary team and treatment plans evolve during the course of treatment. Our medical director and therapists provide regular updates to families and caregivers, always keeping them informed of progress being made.

Our residential program typically lasts between 30 and 90 days. Once you’ve decided to pursue treatment, we’ll perform an initial phone assessment and schedule your admission date. We’ll also provide you with a comprehensive list of items to bring with you or leave at home. When you arrive, our treatment team will perform a more thorough assessment to create a comprehensive treatment plan tailored to you.
