It is not easy to start therapy treatment. An ideal client is a person that, even through all the fears, doubts and questions, takes the first step to start treatment and gives a chance to explore a new technique to find better balance in their life. There could be setbacks in the process but the most important thing is to stay constant. The client is willing to work in their goals and implement skills learned in every session. Also, to ask questions needed, even if they feel afraid, in order to be able to communicate with their therapist in a honest way.
For therapy treatment, I utilize an eclectic approach based on clients' needs. I believe that the role of a therapist is to assist the client in acquiring all of the tools they might need to manage their current issues or condition as well as being able to deal with any potential issues that might come up moving forward.
I have over eight years of experience providing individual and group therapy treatment for people experiencing mental health and substance use disorders. I have been a companion for hundreds of clients, including those in the Hispanic population, in their process of working their desired goals and finding the appropriate treatment to achieve them.
