More than half of my clients are couple's seeking help to navigate difficult conflicts in their relationship. Many are seeking support and guidance healing from the trauma of infidelity. Other couples are hoping to improve their connection, intimacy, and communication. I also work with adult individuals to help navigate attachment wounds, sexual dysfunction, anxiety, depression, and trauma. My clients seek a safe space to overcome their inner conflicts, understand the dimensions of their being, and be seen and heard. I use interventions in sessions to help clients resolve conflicts and put words to their feelings.

Many people are simply just trying to escape from depression, anxiety or boredom to find that it is affecting their relationships. You may feel stuck, ashamed and embarrassed keeping this secret. Seeking help is the first step towards wellness.

Your relationship is deeply important, so the sooner it warms up, the better. We'll find positive, practical steps you can take to make quick progress toward the shared future you long for, without dwelling on past problems or your childhood. In a safe, structured environment with experienced guidance, you can stop the arguing, improve communication, enjoy satisfying sex, recover from affairs, and end abuse. My goal-oriented, research-based approach dramatically reduces the risk of separation and divorce. Your relationship is worth fighting for.

The quality of our relationships determines the quality of our lives. We believe an extraordinary relationship is a by-product of both science and art accessible by learning new skills and raising standards for how we manage relationships, not fate or good luck. You might be struggling with toxic, painful patterns, navigating a complicated love triangle, living in an unconventional relationship, or dealing with the devastation of infidelity. Maybe you're at a crossroads of whether to stay or go but fear losing the friendship, family stability, financial support, and more.

Sadness, depression, grief, anger, anxiety, betrayal, confusion, our relationships, and work stresses can leave us feeling lost and out of balance with ourselves and with others important to us. I have worked for 20+ yrs. with individuals and couples in Maryland and Massachusetts. I have worked with adults of different backgrounds, including veterans and first responders, helping them overcome depression/mood disorders, anxiety, trauma/abuse, addiction, relationship conflicts, infidelity, self-acceptance, and major life changes.
I am a licensed Bilingual (Spanish/English) therapist who understands not only the complexities of the human experience, but also the challenges associated with addiction, relationships, and general life transitions through a multicultural and trauma-informed lens. I also believe that each person comes with a unique set of abilities that at times are underdeveloped due to fears, doubts, and insecurities that are a product of their experiences. My aim is to empower individuals by helping them realize their maximum potential through positive reinforcement, guidance, a dose of lighthearted humor, and genuine support.

I am passionate about helping couples craft deeply nourishing and caring relationships. In our meetings we learn the skills required for loving another person well: good communication, problem solving and repair. We explore what it means for each person to feel loved and cared for and work toward a dance that honors each members unique preferences. I also help couples have important conversations about crafting a mutually satisfying shared vision of what a meaningful life is as romantic partners, parents and community members. We work on healing from painful past ruptures such as infidelity, substance use and frequent fighting.

Infidelity Therapists
How does therapy for infidelity work?
A skilled infidelity therapist will provide a safe space for clients to communicate their feelings and concerns. The goal is to be completely honest about what led to the cheating and how it has affected the entire family to prevent it from recurring in the future. The therapist will help the clients work on rebuilding mutual trust and respect and developing better communication and conflict-resolution skills. If the goal is to remain a couple, clients will learn the “danger signs” for their specific relationship, and they will make a renewed commitment to be faithful.
How long does therapy for infidelity take?
Recovery from infidelity can take time, and it can vary from person to person. Generally, a therapist will want to see the clients at least once a week for around six months. Then the sessions can be arranged as needed, depending on the clients’ individual needs. While therapy may end or shift to an as-needed basis, it can take up to two years or more for some clients to fully recover from infidelity.
How does therapy help the partner who was cheated on?
When a client discovers their partner’s infidelity, their trust in the relationship and in the life they had together may be shattered. They often experience mental health symptoms, such as anxiety, depression, grief, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). They don’t always want to stay in the relationship; they may feel ambivalent or may even want to leave. Therapy gives these clients a safe and healthy way to communicate all of their complicated emotions and concerns.
How does therapy help the partner who committed infidelity?
Infidelity often occurs when one or both partners’ emotional needs are not being met in the relationship. Therapy can help this client understand why they cheated and figure out how to address those unmet needs without resorting to infidelity in the future. This can lessen (but not entirely eliminate) the risk of repeated infidelity. Clients who cheat may also feel intense guilt about deceiving their partners, a sentiment that they can work through in therapy.
