Being a young adult in today’s world is difficult. Challenges with relationships, social anxiety, and work or school stress can be overwhelming to manage alone. These challenges can add up over time and you may find that you are not coping as well as you would like. You may become avoidant, feel burnt out, or lose relationships you once cherished. I want to help you regain control of your life and overcome the difficulties life brings.

Empathy, compassion, and curiosity are the cornerstones of my approach. If you’re struggling with your mental health, or feeling overwhelmed by the things that have happened to you, I can help you to sort through your thoughts and feelings. Together we can work to re-imagine your life stories, and tap into the wisdom and skills you possess.

The smile you wear everyday on the outside is wearing you down on the inside. You've accomplished a lot, yet you still feel like you're coming up short. At the root of your anxiety is a familiar sense that you're not good enough unless you make something of yourself. It pushes you to excel at work, but it riddles you with doubt in your relationships and makes it hard to be honest about how you feel. You hold your feelings back from the people you love because you don't want to burden them. So you keep your struggles to yourself. This is the way it's always been, but you're reaching a breaking point.

Life has become complex, balancing multiple roles, responsibilities, and identities. Whether you're a student, spouse, parent, professional—or all of these, alongside managing anxiety and depression—it can feel overwhelming. But you're not alone. I provide a safe space to explore your thoughts, emotions, and behaviour patterns without judgment, fostering deep self-discovery and alignment with your authentic self. Taking that first step into therapy can be daunting, but I'm here to create an environment where you can breathe easy, share your story, feel understood and find your path to well-being amidst life's demands.

Many people notice stress (feeling worried, overwhelmed, and sometimes helpless) when faced with challenges or striving towards goals.
You deserve to live a life that leaves you excited to wake up every morning. Managing difficult mornings or evenings, challenges and stress that occurs during the day can feel better. You can strive to live the life of your dreams and feel better about how you respond to challenges. My passion and the reason I provide therapy services is to support people to live the life of their dreams - with as much ease as possible.

I work with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, emotional issues, struggling with identity issues or hoping to better their relationships with friends, family and partners.
In a world obsessed with perfectionism life sometimes has a tendency to knock us down. I am here to say we don’t have to be perfect all the time, our imperfections are what makes us who we are. Our imperfections provide us with opportunities for growth and resilience.

Navigating challenges in our lives is hard to do at the best of times, but even harder if we’re doing it alone. Therapy is all about partnership: both you and me working together to meet your goals. We start with aligning your goals with your values as our values can help shape our direction for change and self-discovery. I work to create a safe and supportive space to process difficult feelings, develop coping skills and grow self-awareness. While I have experience working with a variety of concerns, I am particularly passionate about working with anxiety, depression, relational issues, life and career transitions, and self-esteem.

I am passionate about working with individuals experiencing any type of conflict, stressors, anxiety, or challenges, and I look forward to working alongside you.
Accepting new clients - I firmly believe that the client is the expert of their story and I recognize the importance of therapists and clients working together in a collaborative space in which to explore any obstacles to growth. I also understand that it can be scary and intimidating to reach out and ask for support. It is with this understanding that I work to create and offer an empathetic and supportive space while acknowledging that each of us have unique needs, strengths, and goals. Together, we can explore how these have and continue to shape experiences, perspectives, and identities.

We will dig into the root issues of anger, fear, depression, anxiety, lack of self esteem, and trauma in order to assist you with achieving a full and meaningful life.
At certain times in our lives, we may feel like we are stuck. We struggle with maintaining our relationships at home or work, have difficulty meeting deadlines, or are unable to deal with the emotions of what is happening in the world. Counselling is a way to work through these issues. Here are a few other reasons why individuals and couples may seek counselling: reduced emotional and physical connection due to strained communication and increased conflict, infidelity, workplace conflict/bullying, recent separation or divorce, and an inability to find a suitable partner. These situations can cause immense pain.

I have over 25 years of experience providing counselling and psychotherapy with individuals facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, relationship issues/ sep/divorce, trauma, stress and anger, etc.
Sometimes we need someone to talk things through with so we don’t end up feeling stuck, overwhelmed or isolated. Trying to go it alone or ‘tough it out’ can lead to increased anxiety, depression and stress or other symptoms and behaviours that can cause additional challenges in our lives and relationships. Working together, we can find new ways for you to problem-solve, identify strengths, deepen self-awareness, manage feelings and reactions and tap into your inner wisdom to promote positive change and healing.

Processing your thoughts and emotions can be challenging and often leaves people feeling lost and alone. What if you could have a safe place, free of judgement to share your story. Often, emotional difficulties such as anxiety and depression are related to deeper issues that have not yet been resolved. Together, we will explore issues that have left you feeling exhausted and overwhelmed and begin your journey towards growth and well-being. Whether you have had a traumatic experience, are experiencing emotional difficulties, are stressed out and struggling with setting boundaries, I believe healing is within reach.

So many of us have internalized messages of worthlessness, helplessness, and fear-based living. Experiences of feeling rejected, diminished, abused, and/or uncared for in early years can lead to present-day self-attack and self-abandonment. You may feel as though you are uniquely unworthy, and must earn the love and acceptance of others through perfectionism, people-pleasing, or submission. Oftentimes, these underlying beliefs manifest as things like OCD and OCD tendencies, perfectionism, health anxiety or abusive relationships.

We all strive to be happy. But some days life can feel so overwhelming its hard to breathe. We may feel anxious, sad or frustrated, and it's hard to cope with day to day challenges. This may cause self-doubt, social issues and even health concerns. Sometimes its our relationships that are causing us to be stressed. We want to have happy, healthy relationships with our partners or family, but sometimes its so difficult. Communication is poor, you don't see eye to eye. This can impact all aspects of our lives.

What are the most common treatments for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioural therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioural Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.
How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.
When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.
How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
