Established in 2010 by the Pride and Remembrance Association (PRA), the Pride and Remembrance Foundation (PRF) serves as the charitable arm of the pride & remembrance run.

The Foundation receives and receipts all charitable funds received through the pride & remembrance run.  This provides an immediate and seamless tax receipting process for the Run’s fundraisers.

Charitable funds received are then disbursed to charitable organizations selected annually as Run beneficiaries by the PRA, in consultation with the PRF.

The Foundation also receives a share of the Run’s charitable proceeds.  With its share of these proceeds, the PRF administers a modest granting program of its own.

The Foundation's mandate is to provide financial support to registered charities in Canada that benefit the 2SLGBTQ+ community. These may include individual projects, services and/or activities that provide health, educational, legal, social, athletic, cultural or other charitable benefits.

Applications from charitable organizations across Canada are received year-round, are reviewed in the Fall, and granting decisions follow thereafter. Please note that there is a single due date of September 30 in each year for consideration of applications.

In 2023, the Foundation gifted nearly $100,000 to a broad range of organizations providing health, social, cultural and educational benefits to 2SLGBTQ+ communities across the country.

The Foundation’s grant program keeps the spirit of the Run alive all year-round and gives the Run a unique opportunity to support smaller, innovative projects.

The granting guidelines and application process can be downloaded here.
