Adriel Bettelheim

Adriel Bettelheim is the health care editor at POLITICO and POLITICO Pro and has covered government and politics from Washington since 1994. He previously held senior editing and reporting positions at Congressional Quarterly, Bloomberg News and PolitiFact, where he was part of the team that won the Pulitzer Prize for National Reporting for coverage of the 2008 presidential race.

Other honors include a Sigma Delta Chi award for journalism excellence from the Society of Professional Journalists for a 10-part series on health care. He’s authored books on aging and Medicare and studied chemistry at Case Western Reserve University. Bettelheim grew up on Long Island and lives with his wife in Maryland.
