Powerful Partnerships

In partnership with Three Sisters Gardens, a Native-led nonprofit, we are planning to launch this 5-acre sustainable urban agriculture site in early 2025. The City of Sacramento has granted us this land and is using a two million dollar grant funded through the California Natural Resources Agency to help pay for the installation of a nursery and farm that will triple our capacity for organic trees and nursery start production.

Education and Workforce Development

Like our Sobrante Park Nursery, the Sacramento Nursery will create good dignified jobs for our Holistic Re-Entry program as well as provide a beautiful space for our educational programs and for people directly from this community. In partnership with CalFIRE, who is funding workforce development programs, we will be expanding our career pathways and providing more opportunities for living wage jobs and paid internships. By growing our workforce and the plant stock materials we need, we aim to build capacity that helps cities achieve their sustainability plans by accessing organically grown tree crops that can be shipped nationwide
