Norco Dirt/Street and Womens Series of 2009 Bikes

Jul 25, 2008
by Tyler Maine
Norco's 2009 line up isn't just about the big bikes for boys, they have also introduced the all new Vixa Women's Freeride bike! Developed around feed back from Norco factory rider Darcy Turenne and other lady shredders, the Vixa is here to help women push the sport on a bike that fits them right.

We can't forget about all you DJ and street riders either. Lots of refinements have been made to the hardtail line up too, so have a look at what 2009 has in store:The Dirt/Street series of hard tail bikes is made for the Dirt Jumpers, Skate park/Urban riders, 4X/Slalom racers and even trail riders that are looking for a versatile bike able to ride the parks, DJs and trails. The whole line up sees a lot of parts color matching that gives off a real custom look to the bikes. Of all the series, it was here that fashion and function really met to create versatile, great looking rides.

For 2009 Norco has gone and created a 4 bike line up of Women specific bikes called the Forma series. While the Ari, Fae and Koshka are all XC hard tails, it's the new Vixa freeride bike that was really turning heads up in Whistler-ok so Darcy helped garner a little bit more attention to it too. The women's specific freeride bike was developed with a a ton of feedback from Darcy Turenne of the Norco Factory Team who was looking for a bike to better fit and suit her needs as a rider. The end result is the Vixa-a ladies freeride and aggressive trail bike.

Vixa - $2999

The 2009 Norco bike launch in Whistler B.C. was a success on many levels. The new bikes were a hit with everyone that rode them, they look great and the whole crew put on a great show. The weather has been co-operating all season and the launch was no different. I hope that you all enjoyed all the coverage and I'll see you all next season.

all bikes no matter what company will be going up in price about 25%. on average every year bikes go up about 5-10% anyways because of the new improvements and upgrades. the colour schemes look really good. they look oldschool and retro. really like all norcos new bikes. you either love them or hate them. mostly love them tough. plus i bet in reall life they look even better.

  • 7 4
the colour schemes are horrible like what were they thinking with the two50 and the 4hun is just ugly, i usually like norco's but all i can ask is wtf were they thinking. norco let me down this year
  • 5 2
but dude you gotta admit the havoc scheme is pretty dank
  • 10 5
norco have gone abit over the top with the colours....hope they ve changed the hole deal with the weight of their frames...their so heavey
  • 4 2
Those bikes look like the engineer was drunk and rode staight into a tree at 60 klicks and hour, bent the crap out of the tubing and then gave the bike to a stoned hippy for a paint job. I don't care how good Boyko is, those are by far the fugliest bikes I have ever seen...
  • 1 2
 without a doubt!!
  • 0 0
ah the frames are practicly straight (ryde 250)
  • 2 1
 HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!

The colours are all a bit vibrant and way too far out there. I personally think they shuold stick with slightly bright colours and let the people choose what other colours they want.

All nice bikes though.

The colours let them down.Frown

  • 0 0
what a fuckin joke. looks like fuckin circus bikes to me. colours are but ugly, 250 looks like shit especialy with them cranks, although i have to admit for the price range sick parts for the most of em. just dam ugly as shit.
  • 1 0
i liked last year colours and styles a lot more then this year.the only one i would consider to get would be the 250, but i would just get the frame and build it up my self, i think thay to step it up to much.
  • 2 0
this is the first year id actaully buy the havoc all the other years were shit
  • 2 0
yo u cant get a transition TOP with a fox float R for 300 bucks cheaper than that Two50
  • 3 1
as always, norco two50 is the only acceptable stock dirtjumper out of any company with the exception of the transition ToP
  • 4 1
nice bikes but way better Darcy¡¡¡
  • 4 3
the vixa is amazing... i cannot believe what they did to the other bikes... it looks like rainbow had an abortion on these bikes. these colors are not attractive.
  • 1 0

  • 0 0
The frames are schemes are way better than last year. Last years model's were to boring. I like the yellow and blue on the 4Hun
  • 5 4

  • 2 0
the 4hun is way more expesive than i expected
  • 1 0
Kinda funny that you got pictures of all the bikes except the only one that i want to see, the XXXX =P
  • 1 1
i think the colors are a bit too much, spesh tried it but they're new ones are back to normal now cuz most ppl thought they were a bit out there too.
  • 1 0
The reason why the prices are higher this year is due to a 15-20% price increase to compensate for rising gas prices!
  • 1 0
at least norco has nice hardtails for next year... but the design for the dually's looks like garbage....
  • 1 0
tits mcgee designed a sweet freeride bike
  • 0 0
All the colours I find really gross. Norco's trying too hard to become trendy and cool.
  • 0 0
norco just keep making better bikes the graphics are incredible and also the women specific freeride bike looks amazing 2
  • 8 7
very nice bikes!!!!!i love the colors!!!!!
  • 5 5
 dam straght
  • 4 3
omg norco have gone mad, but i like it. the 4hun is so sick
  • 5 3
 bah Norco just ownz !
  • 2 4
I'm sorry but after owning an 08 shore one, riding it 5 times and snapping the seatstay 2 of those times I will never even consider a norco again. They just don't seem to think their designing process through, as seen in the fact the the new Vixa appears to be the same design.
  • 4 3
 NORCO FOR LIFE...JUST RIDE IT!
  • 4 3

  • 1 1
Any ideas on UK pricing? are those prices in US or Canadian dollars?
  • 12 2
why did they raise the prise of ever single bike this year....stupid
  • 14 4
i agree no one in their right mind is going to pay 2200 for a hardtail thats just stupid you can buy a transition TOP for 1600 and its way nicer than a 4hun
  • 6 2
Yes. Stupid looking. (I think I gagged at the 250's looks and price.)
  • 4 0
ya i agree way to expensive for a norco
  • 2 2
its called inflaytion if thats how you spell it...... gas goes up sooo does everything else cause of that
  • 1 0
The cost of raw matirels has increased becuase the supplie is gettting shorter and shorters as we use them all, so pirces go up to keep people working alive.
  • 1 0
 hahahahahahahahahahahaha
Lol i worked at a bike shop they told us it was cause
"price of steal, aluminum, gas erc has gone up so it more expensive to get the bikes"

But i agree its gay and TRANSITION TOP (which i have) IS WAYYY BETTER than any norco!
  • 6 6
