Nebraska Primary Election Results

Governor

The Republican primary is a three-way dead heat between Charles W. Herbster, a businessman backed by former President Donald J. Trump; Jim Pillen, a University of Nebraska regent supported by outgoing Gov. Pete Ricketts; and Brett Lindstrom, a state senator who appeals to the party’s moderate wing. The race has been roiled by allegations that Mr. Herbster groped several women, which he has denied.

What to Watch

What can Nebraska tell us about the midterms?

Nebraska will be the latest test of former President Donald J. Trump’s hold on Republican primary voters and how much influence he has on state politics heading into higher-profile races in Georgia, where he is trying to oust Republican incumbents. — Reid J. Epstein
