Portrait of Zach Levitt

Zach Levitt

I collaborate with many desks across the newsroom on breaking news and longer-term coverage as a reporter, designer and programmer. I have worked on stories exploring the real-world impact of Bitcoin mining, the history and geography of Native American boarding schools and how the South Asian monsoon is becoming more extreme. My work often focuses on visualizing information at a scale or in a perspective that readers may have not previously encountered.

Before joining The Times, I worked at The Washington Post, NPR and The Los Angeles Times. I have an undergraduate degree in geography and computer science from Middlebury College in Vermont. I grew up in western Massachusetts.

Like all Times journalists, I am committed to upholding the standards of integrity outlined in our Ethical Journalism Handbook.
