Sara Curtis

My work at The Times is primarily focused on helping to innovate and shape the sound of our culture coverage. I produce book reviews, artful features and notable interviews that help listeners better understand the world through art and culture.

I’ve worked in audio for almost 15 years as a producer of sound-rich personal narratives and immersive interviews. I’m a graduate of the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies and have a master’s in performance studies. I’ve taught a radio and podcasting course at UMass Amherst and a writing for radio class at Smith College. My work has won a Third Coast International Audio Festival award, an LA Press Club award and a Gracie award. My pieces have aired nationally and internationally on podcasts, radio programs and in dance performances and art installations.

As a Times journalist, I share the values and adhere to the standards of integrity outlined in our Ethical Journalism Handbook.
