I am a political correspondent for The New York Times reporting on the campaigns of Donald J. Trump and other candidates in the 2024 presidential election. I also cover breaking political news.
What I Cover
I am on the road following candidates as they travel across the country to try to convince the American public that they are the best option for the presidency. I am particularly interested in what issues will motivate voters in this election, and how candidates’ policy positions affect those whose support they are seeking.
My Background
Previously, I covered a range of topics in the greater New York City region, and most recently focused on city and state politics. I was one of the reporters who uncovered many of the lies and exaggerations told by Representative George Santos and the political and legal fallout from his actions on Capitol Hill. I have also written about mayoral, governor and congressional elections in New York and took part in The Times’s coverage of the 2016 and 2020 elections.
I joined The Times in 2015 as a social media editor, and I held similar roles at The Washington Post and The Baltimore Sun, where I also wrote about L.G.B.T.-related news and issues.
Journalistic Ethics
In accordance with The Times’s ethical standards, I do not make political donations, nor do I campaign for causes or take part in political activity like rallies or petitions.
As I report, I aim to reflect a variety of perspectives from across the political spectrum in order to fairly and accurately represent the issues and people I cover. I always identify myself as a reporter at events, and when I am on the road following candidates or campaigns, The Times pays for my travel.
