Portrait of Anna Foley

Anna Foley

I produce audio stories about the candidates, the issues and what matters most to voters. I have a particular passion for voter-driven stories that involve listening to people talk about their political beliefs and actions, and finding out how those beliefs and actions affect not only the decisions they make at the ballot box, but also in their everyday lives.

I am interested in pursuing stories about young voters, disenfranchised voters, misinformation and trust in elections.

I’ve been an audio producer and reporter for more than six years. Before coming to The Times, I covered internet culture and online misinformation as a reporter and producer for the podcast “Reply All.”

I grew up in North Carolina, where most of my family still lives. I attended Pennsylvania State University for my undergraduate degree. During college, I blogged for the online news site, Onward State, which I fully credit as my start in journalism. I attended Northwestern University for my master’s degree in journalism. I currently live in Brooklyn.

As an audio journalist, I want my work to reflect the real way people speak and communicate what they believe. I want all of my work to be accurate and fair. Like all Times journalists, I am committed to upholding the standards of integrity outlined in our Ethical Journalism Handbook.
