Wenn es etwas zu Meckern gibt, dann sind es die hohen Verkaufspreise und das fehlende Netzteil im Paket – wie bei den Modellen Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 und Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra.

It has a brighter display with a higher resolution–perfect for binge watching your favorite shows. And for those willing to wander away from the Samsung brand, the OnePlus Pad is an outstanding device that punches well above its price point, with a display and power that rivals that of the Tab S9+. What we’re getting at is that there’s nothing particularly wrong with the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9+. But there are better options out there, for almost every scenario.

The only competitor is the Apple iPad, which many consider the king of this market. There is no denying that the Cupertino company knows how to make good tablets. Will Samsung be able to compete with them? I think absolutely yes. I’m not going to try to determine who is the best in this competition because there are too many variables involved. However, I am convinced that many people will have a hard time choosing the best device. Is Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Plus the most interesting option to buy? In theory, yes. The regular Galaxy Tab S9 looks like a standard tablet that you can use in your hands. The Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra, on the other hand, is a real monster that I think may lose some of its mobility, and I see it more like an Android laptop than a real tablet.

EN→DEI'll absolutely be picking up a Galaxy Tab S9+, as I do every time Samsung releases a new model. I like tablets, and I love Android, and Samsung makes the best Android tablets, hands-down. Yes, this year is mostly a reiteration of the previous installment with some fine-tuning. So, for most, I wouldn't recommend the upgrade if you already own an S8, as you won't gain much by splashing out. But if you don't have a Galaxy Tab S device that's recent or are simply looking for an iPad Pro competitor that runs Android, the Tab S9 series is it. And, really, the Galaxy Tab S9+ hits the sweet spot of size and portability. It's that simple, and it's why I can easily recommend the device. Of course, I will be waiting for a sale, and with Christmas around the corner, I bet we'll see some great deals before the year is out.

Like its predecessor, the 12.9-inch slate features two rear cameras, with the 13MP primary sensor now backed by an 8MP ultrawide snapper — up from 6MP. The two rear cameras have also shifted from a single pill-shaped cutout to two individual rings, much like the Galaxy S23 series. Samsung’s 12MP selfie shooter sits in landscape orientation along the top bezel. If there’s one drawback to Samsung’s premium tablet, it’s the price. The Galaxy Tab S9 Plus picked up a $100 increase over its predecessor, bringing the base model to a cool $1,000. You can point to the extra base RAM and storage to help justify said cost, but the 5G-enabled version and 512GB model rise to $1,149 and $1,199, respectively.

EN→DECompared to last year’s Tab S8 lineup, there are two tangible upgrades in the S9s: a new Qualcomm processor that promises to be a little faster (though speed and performance were never really issues in last year’s tablets), and IP68 water and dust resistance, just like most modern smartphones. That means you can use these tablets around a pool or bathtub, or more likely, you just won’t have to worry about life’s little mishaps at the coffee shop or when a toddler surprises you with their range when throwing a sippy bottle. I don’t know of any other non-rugged tablets that have this kind of water resistance — Android, iPad, or otherwise — so it’s a legitimate differentiator for Samsung’s models and a nice thing to have.

It's not a bad thing at all: little changes were needed, as previous Galaxy Tab Plus devices were already at the top of their game, so minor improvement here and there actually go a long way. While I've always technically liked the mid-sized Galaxy tablet, this year I'm head over heels enamored with the more compact Galaxy Tab S9, which packs the same hardware and lovely screen in a more compact package. Surely, the Galaxy Tab S9 Plus is by no means a worse device, it's just slightly bigger but also more expensive, so I don't really see why you should pick this one in favor of the smaller Galaxy Tab S9.

But the new high-intensity HDR boost means that the time for film streaming can be shortened. It depends on what you’re watching and the lighting environment you’re in. In any case, I can use the tablet at home all day from morning to bedtime, at least as long as I’m not playing games or running heavy productivity apps. The battery can then be charged fairly quickly with up to 45W of USB charging. But you’ll have to get your own charger for that, it’s not included. With a compatible charger, I can fill a depleted battery in about an hour and a half. It seems to take a long time with the last 20%, probably because it’s more gentle on the battery. And that could be a good thing, because if you spend the kind of money Samsung wants for a Galaxy Tab S9 Plus, it should last a while.

We’ve already seen both the Tab S9 and S9 Plus in person, but we haven’t spent enough time with either tablet to come to a full verdict on their pros and cons just yet. Mind you, the upgrades on offer here are clear: for the Tab S9, you’re getting a brighter screen, a faster processor, a slightly bigger battery, more RAM options and an IP68 water resistance rating. For the larger Plus model, the improvements are mostly the same, though instead of a battery size increase and display upgrade, Samsung has included a beefier ultra-wide sensor on the rear of the tablet. The Tab S9 Plus is available in 512GB storage options, too.

EN→DEIf you like the spacious screen found on the Tab S9 Ultra but want the portability of the Tab S9, the Tab S9 Plus is the obvious compromise. The AMOLED display is bright and vibrant, making it fantastic for streaming TV shows and movies, but the tablet isn’t as large and unwieldy as the top-of-the-line Tab S9 Ultra. It’s also a good chunk cheaper. After spending a brief time with the Tab S9 Plus, I’d also recommend the tablet to digital artists and photo editors over the standing Tab S9, as there’s a good amount more space to work.

EN→DEIt’s taken Samsung a while to update its premium tablet range, but with most of the changes fairly minor in nature, this generation doesn’t look like one to get particularly excited about. Dust and water resistance are nice but less essential for a tablet than a phone. And while it’s great that the entry-level model now has an OLED screen, that’s probably something it ought to have had in the previous generation anyway. Plus, those prices do look rather high, with the Tab S9 starting at £799, the S9 Plus at £999 and the Tab S9 Ultra at £1,199. Still, it’s too early to deliver a definitive verdict, so we’ll be holding back from doing so until we get our hands on review samples. If you can’t wait for that, however, all three tablets will be up on the Samsung website for pre-order from Wednesday, 26 July, and on sale officially from Friday, 11 August.

Das neueste Mitglied der Samsung-Familie ist kein anderes als das Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Plus. Einfach gesagt, dieses Gerät liegt zwischen dem 11-Zoll-Galaxy Tab S9 und dem 14,6-Zoll-Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra. Im Grunde bietet das Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Plus einen größeren Akku als das Basismodell, während es auf das Dual-Selfie-Setup und die enorme Größe des High-End-Ultra verzichtet - und damit genau richtig ist. Es ist bekannt, dass die Galaxy Tab S8-Serie einen Armor-Aluminium-Rahmen, ein Gorilla-Glas-Display und kräftige AKG-Stereo-Lautsprecher hatte. Nun, das Galaxy Tab S9 Plus hat die gleichen robusten Materialien wie das Tab S8 Plus, mit Ausnahme der Lautsprecher, die 20 % größer sind, und die gesamte Serie ist nach IP68 gegen Wasser und Staub geschützt, was für ein Tablet eine echte Seltenheit ist. Was das Display betrifft, so hat Samsung dem 12,9-Zoll-Display des Galaxy Tab S9 Plus ein wichtiges Upgrade hinzugefügt, nämlich das Dynamic AMOLED 2X-Panel. Es ist erwähnenswert, dass dies eine Verbesserung gegenüber dem Super AMOLED der vorherigen Generation ist. So ist das neue Panel etwas farbtreuer und strahlt weniger blaues Licht ab. Außerdem bleibt die Bildwiederholfrequenz von 120 Hz butterweich, die HDR10+-Unterstützung ist ein Muss für Netflix- und Max-Streaming und das 16:10-Format eignet sich hervorragend für Videos im Querformat und andere Inhalte.
Beim S Pen hat Samsung die Latenzzeit von 6,2 ms auf 2,8 ms gesenkt und damit mehr als halbiert. Das ist definitiv eine große Verbesserung für alle, die ihr Galaxy Tab für Adobe Illustrator oder Procreate verwenden. Abgesehen davon kann der IP68-zertifizierte S Pen für fast alle Navigationsaufgaben verwendet werden, da er viel einfacher ist als der Versuch, mit einer Hand über das riesige Display zu greifen. Außerdem verfügt Samsungs neuester S Pen immer noch über die anpassbare Seitentaste, mit der man schneller einen Screenshot machen kann als mit der Power- und Lautstärketaste. Was die Leistung anbelangt, so wurde der hitzeanfällige Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Prozessor durch den Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 für das Galaxy ersetzt. Diese aktualisierte Version des Flaggschiff-Chipsatzes von Qualcomm steigert die CPU- und GPU-Geschwindigkeit, was dem Tab S9 Plus einen kleinen zusätzlichen Vorteil bei Spielen und Unterhaltung verschafft. Abgesehen davon wird der Chipsatz von 12 GB RAM und 256 GB Speicherplatz in der Basiskonfiguration unterstützt. Was den Akku angeht, so hat dieses Modell den gleichen 10.090-mAh-Akku wie sein Vorgänger, so dass alle signifikanten Akku-Verbesserungen von dem aktualisierten Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy-Prozessor stammen. Kurz gesagt, es ist ein großartiges Gerät, das je nach Bedarf und Vorliebe des Benutzers erkundet werden kann.

Diese Klasse ist noch durchaus fähig neueste Spiele flüssig darzustellen, nur nicht mehr mit allen Details und in hohen Auflösungen. Besonders anspruchsvolle Spiele laufen nur in minimalen Detailstufen, wodurch die grafische Qualität oft deutlich leidet. Diese Klasse ist nur noch für Gelegenheitsspieler empfehlenswert. Der Stromverbrauch von modernen Grafikkarten in dieser Klasse ist dafür geringer und erlaubt auch bessere Akkulaufzeiten.

SD 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy: High-End SoC (System on a Chip) für Smartphones welcher Anfang 2023 vorgestellt wurde. Integriert unter anderen einen schnellen Cortex-X3 "Prime Core" mit bis zu 3,36 GHz und zwei weitere schnelle Cortex-A715 2,8 GHz für 64-Bit Anwendungen. Zwei weitere schnelle A710 (ebenfalls 2,8 GHz) können auch ältere 32-Bit Anwendungen verarbeiten. Zum Stromsparen wurden außerdem 4 weitere ARM Cortex-A510 Kerne verbaut. Integriert ein 5G Modem, WiFi 7 und eine Hexagon AI Engine. Der Vorteil von Subnotebooks liegt darin, dass das ganze Notebook klein dimensioniert sein kann und daher leicht tragbar ist. Das winzige Display hat noch den Vorteil wenig Strom zu benötigen, was die Akkulaufzeit und damit die Mobilität weiter verbessert. Der Nachteil ist, dass das Lesen von Texten anstrengend für die Augen ist. Hohe Auflösungen, die man von einem Standard-Laptop gewohnt ist, sind fast nicht nutzbar.
