Childrens hatley raincoats

Are these warm? I dont mean warm like a warm winter coat, I mean warm like a spring or autumn jacket. I am toying with buying one for DS, but M & S do a decent lined raincoat for him for £20, so I could go with that instead. I think I could be persuaded to buy an ultra cute Hatley one though if I knew that would be warm-ish ...

We got one for DS and he seems very happy in it. The lining is nice and soft, and pretty substantial. He gets loads of compliments on it.

We got it new on eBay - worth shopping around.

the linings are lovely and soft the prints are great. but I also buy the boden jersey lined anoraks for my dc to cover spring and autumn aa the hatley ones in our house just come out in the rain as they are so plasticky.

DH just bought one for DS, I'd never realised they were 'a make' until now. DS had a red one with dragons on and he loves it. It's a bit big for him so he's been wearing a hoodie zip up underneath. I don't think it's warm enough in this freezing weather just yet.

DS loved his. Always wore it and never complained of the cold. The outer bit is a lot thicker than normal waterproofs so I think it keeps a lot of the wind out.

I got it second hand on ebay and it has lasted both my DSs

The wellies are also great, especially if you can hand them down. With some strategic welly socks you can get them to last 2 years I think.

They are warmer than you'd think. The lining is towelling on nothing penetrates the outer shell of totally wind and rain proof

My boys wear their Hatley raincoats all year round. Make sure you buy a size bigger, then you can roll the sleeves up and get an extra few yea wear out of it! My four year old has been wearing his big brother's for the last two years!

The hoods don't stay up in rain, which for me defeats the purpose of a raincoat!
