Can you please pull the thread ? It's turning into Nicola bully all over again. Alot of people are being sincere but there are some absolutely awful comments and I am shocked it is still standing.
Some people are really getting kicks out of this horrible situation, this lad has a family.
Armchair detectives, trolls etc it really needs to go Mumsnet.

I agree. I reported it last night. No idea why MN are letting it stand.

I second this. I'm not easily shocked but people really are indulging their worst inclinations on that thread. There is a real family waiting for news, it's obscene to let people say these cruel things.

Yes, I just read bits. It's horrific.

I don't think anyone is getting any kicks out of it at all but there is some absolutely nonsense being posted with people unable to think.

They are getting kicks, like they did with Nicola. It's all the gossiping etc like it's eastenders or something

They are getting kicks out of it. Laughing and sniggering and making up 'hilarious' usernames and getting pats on the back for it.

bottom line a 19 year old has probably lost their life alone and in horrendous circumstances. That is all that matters, and that thread is turning it into some sort of crude entertainment. That poor boy.

I didn't see the usernames and the thread has gone now anyway.

About time. Took them long enough.

I'm glad that vile rubbish has been deleted, but I'm astounded that the majority of those awful comments will have been posted by parents.

Exactly this. Mumsnet why was it up for so long? Nearly 1k comments and you can guarantee another would have been made when it became full

It's definitely taken off as the new Nicola Bulley but with the added kangaroo court that it's some sort of karma. It's ugly to see how social media runs off on a bandwagon with these sort of stories.

Yet you've started another thread about.

Hi all,

We pulled the thread this evening and after reading through the last few pages, we agree that we should have made the call to remove it earlier.

We found some trolls on the thread (some using offensive usernames), and we thought that by removing these, the thread could get back on track. This wasn't the case, so we just want to reassure you that we will be reading through the deleted thread to follow up on anything that needs our attention.

It's human nature to gossip and speculate. Always has been.
You don't have to read it, although you obviously have because you know what was in it

We're talking about someone's child who has very likely died.

So, we just stand by and let utter idiots say what ever they want? That's not going to happen. I suggest you find another forum where only people that agree with you comment. Try Tattle.

No it's not. Not any decent human anyway. Until we know what really happened and it may well be a scam or whatever. Taking the piss out of someones missing son and making up shit for entertainment is never okay.

No, not human nature. And that thread was far more than gossip and speculation.

Some of what was written about someone's 19 year old son was beyond shameful.

Port1aCastis · 21/06/2024 22:56

It isn't my nature to speculate, gossip and get great entertainment from a missing person's fate.
As my Grandmother used to say, only vultures pick the bones of a corpse, or in this case a son who is missing
