Best Maternity clothes?

CTR1000 · 13/08/2021 13:05

Where does everyone get their maternity clothing from? Not a fan of the quality of the cheaper stuff from ASOS, New Look, Dorothy Perkins etc but equally would need to sell my kidney to buy everything from Seraphine! (Though it is lovely).

I generally get my clothes from M&S/Next/Fat Face/Joules but they either don’t do maternity wear or have very limited ranges.

Any suggestions welcome!

What about looking for the pricier brands secondhand on eBay?

I liked H&M Mama and Uniqlo maternity jeans. UNIQLO clothing tends to fit a bit wide in general and I bought some stuff from the regular line in size XL that I wore even after pregnancy.

@CTR1000 have a look on Vinted, they have maternity clothes on there 😀. Some H and M stores do some so you can actually see them and try them on

I got some maternity joggers from H&M that are so comfy, I got two pairs.
In regards to everything else I just got the next size up or a couple of sizes up. I usually get T-shirt's from Next and at the minute I'm wearing two sizes up (I'm almost 34 weeks) and I got some cropped linen trousers from Next in one size up.
I just found a lot of maternity tops I returned as they were made from that tight clingy material.

I’ve had a few lovely bits from next maternity this pregnancy. Currently Living in a blue shirred dress from there that everyone keeps commenting on.

I've bought practically all of my maternity pieces from H&M - size up though. Even the jeans were super soft and comfy.

Set up an alert on eBay for Seraphine in your size, you often find people selling new or nearly new things on there. Seraphine also have regular sales so worth buying a few key things from them (I have their black over the bump jeans and some of their tops, and they’re definitely worth getting). You also get a 15% discount on full price items if you sign up to Emma’s Diary.

H&M Mamma was great. I bought some properly pricy Frame and Paige maternity jeans, but the H&M ones were by far the best. ASOS is very hit and miss, but I found the maternity t-shirts to be good.

I have lived in Next maternity leggings, maternity longline vests and t-shirts. I have 1 pair of Asda maternity denim shorts and a dress from ASOS. Seems very little point buying more, so I've just made do!

I've just bought 2 pairs of jeans from H and M and they are honestly the comfiest jeans that I've ever owned. I bought my usual size (double checking my hip measurement against their size guide) and they fit lovely

ASOS for cheap sundresses etc
H&M for shorts, leggings, vest tops
Isabella Oliver for dresses that I’ve worn out to brunches, lunches etc
Next for workwear

Keep an eye on Seraphine for sales, they have 20% of bottoms this week.

I'll be wearing the same things over and over which will probably get boring quick but felt the quality and comfort worth it for work.

You will also find second hand Seraphine on Facebook sale sites.
I also like Jojo (often sale), H&M Mama and Mamalicious (many items on sale at Zalando).

I totally get you! I don’t like cheap clothes but can’t spend too much.
I’ve gone for quality over quantity, getting one too from Jojo Maman bebe which is amazing and so comfy, one seraphine dress and one M&S summer dress that wasn’t maternity but fits over my bump nicely.
I’m tempted to get a second Jojo maman bebe top.

Basics from H&M and ASOS, with a few nicer bits from Jojo, Seraphine and Isabella Oliver. I had a beautiful Breton top from Isabella Oliver that was the most flattering thing. Topshop jeans were good, although that was before ASOS took over. Frugi do some maternity stuff - might not be your style, but good quality and often in the sale. I had some nice leggings from there.

How do you find the shipping now? It massively puts me off trying them.
