FTM here, does anyone have recommendations for a baby monitor? I’ve been researching high and low and can’t see a clear front runner and each one seems to have its own set of problems.. the only thing I know is that it needs to have video 😃

I have an Angelcare one. Bought for us as a very kind gift so tbh I don't know a lot about what else is out there, but I will say having the option to speak through the monitor has been a real godsend. If she starts to cry out in her sleep we can shush her through the monitor and she'll go back to sleep without fully rousing.

Hi @Angeldelight50 thanks for posting! If you're still looking, we've got in-depth reviews of some of Mumsnetters' favourite monitors on our best baby monitors round-up. Hope this is helpful and do get in touch if you have any feedback on the article :)

We had a nooie at first as it was cheap and we didn’t know how much we would use it but we had tons of connectivity problems with it. Customer service was good but in the end we decided to get a non wifi one, which felt safer anyway and doesn’t need wifi signal so can be used on holiday too.

We now have a baby sense one which we love, it comes with 2 cameras so we have one in nursery and one in our bedroom as DS sleeps in with us and only naps are in the nursery. Having a portable parent unit is very helpful (I would actually say essential!) so make sure you get one with good battery life. The camera quality is fab and aI can usually see him breathing even in night vision without having to zoom in.

We have BT smart video monitor. Could never get the bit to your phone to work, but using it as a standard radiowave monitor, the picture and sound quality has been decent in our victorian house.

Hands down the owlet is incredible. So much piece of mind. Nothing compared.
then as a camera, the BT camera is excellent as you don’t need the internet to use it (which is important)
