Good quality bedding

Had some lovely, good quality bedding sets from a now defunct company and need to replace them. What do people recommend? Am happy to invest in them as these ones have lasted yonks but have seen ones that I would have gone to complained about so would be grateful for any suggestions.

I buy M&S min 600 thread count and it's great. Alternatively Sheridans is good but depends what you want to spend. We always have white or ivory so a bit boring but lovely to sleep in when it's all ironed which I don't mind doing!

Thanks
Don’t mind it being a bit spendy if it’s worth it

Yves Delorme bedding is amazing and lasts forever.
Christy is a more budget friendly alternative.

Dunelm Egyptian cotton Hotel range is lovely and very reasonaby priced. Mine looks good as new 2 years in. I use 400 tc as I find higher too heavy.

Does anyone know where to get good quality (300 TC+?) patterned bedding, preferably not £100+ for a duvet cover?

I don't like plain white or pastel and certainly can't be arsed keeping it spotless (we have cats who's party trick is coming in with dirty feet that they save to wipe all over the beds) and want a bright duvet cover to provide colour in a plain white bedroom.

We have an old striped Sheridan which is lovely, but I can't find anything similar. Please don't tell me to go down the 'plain white cover with stupid accept strip over the end of the bed' route either. Smile

If you are likely to get dirty cat paw prints, why not get dusky coloured linen? Linen looks good even when slightly crumpled and dirty!

I love my bedding from Cologne & Cotton. Good quality & reasonably priced.

I'd avoid white company, which doesn't wear well in my experience

I bought my mum some Sheridan’s on my sister’s advice. After mum died sister had the duvet ( for guest bed)and I have the sheets absolutely beautiful to sleep in and glad I had treated mum to a complete set.
Laura Ashley now in Next not sure if they have the sheets but I bought the duvet covers in the sales and still in good nick years later.

I love Cologne and Cotton. Have got some really nice sheets from La Redoute too. Most of mine is from John Lewis sale.

Would always have said Sheridan but the last 2 sets I bought ( a linen one and a cotton one) haven't lasted as long as previous sets. So I would be more reluctant to spend big money on them. The first set I bought is still going strong 12 years later. The other 2 lasted 4 and 3 years, despite not being used half as much as the original set which was my only set for 3 years and still looks immaculate now.

I have just bought a cheap set from Amazon tbf, and it seems as good as any others for half the price.

Pure linen for me now-soak & sleep although la redoute have more colours

Autograph high TC is good for cotton. Tk maxx always worth a look but soak & sleep is my go to

Yes, always worth a look at TKMaxx. I got two frette duvet sets from there a couple of years back, and recently got a gorgeous print one for the spare room. I can’t remember the brand though…

I’ve bought Frette in TK Max too - wonder if it really is the same as the full price Frette. It’s nice but at the regular price I’d expect it to be like sleeping wrapped up in angel wings.
JL bed linen has always been very reliable but next time I’m going to look for a bamboo or tencel fabric. Don’t seem to be able to find much pure tencel here (unlike the US) - here it seems to be blended with cotton to make it harder wearing but that stops it being so soft and silky,

We got some kelly hoppen bedding given to us as a gift and you can really tell the difference between that and my asda bedding. That being said, I like how much easier it is to change duvet covers when they are lightweight.
Might try looking for some if the suggestions above now though.

Mitre Linen has been really good and long lasting - basically a hotel supplier so good quality and robust.

The bedfolk ones are plain but they feel amazing!

I go to Homesense and look for high quality thread count. Got some really lovely bits, reasonably priced. I like plain white which helps but I have had other nice coloured/patterned sets for the kids' beds.

We have a set from Soak and Sleep (OK) and another from Dip & Doze (much nicer).
