Joseph or brabantia

I need a new ironing board, I can’t decide between the Joseph and Joseph glide or a brabantia one. I think the Joseph one is new but does anyone have it? I can never decide if I think their products are well built or gimmicky but it’s definitely the nicer looking of the two… any advice?

I've got this one OP. No complaints or problems and I do a LOT of ironing (3 school age DC, plus me and DP).

Joseph or brabantia

I also immediately thought names, but if we are talking ironing boards I am happy with my Brabantia one

I thought baby names too & that you'd lost the plot on the second choice Grin

Just to throw another into the mix, I have a Leifheit ironing board which I bought because it was lightweight. Bought quite a few years ago so no link but worth considering.

The new Joseph Joseph one looks great but a bit expensive

I'm happy with Brabantia - we have a biggish model I think. Expensive to replace the covers every couple of years. My cleaner has never complained.

Sorry no advice m, just that I thought this was a baby name thread Blush. I thought they were two very opposite ends of the spectrum!

And me. I only opened the thread to see if anyone else had thought this.

@ledgeofglory it really does! I almost ordered a brabantia last night but I think being able to hang the Joseph is so handy and it looks a lot neater having all the feet at one end.

I don't know about the ironing boards but I have the Joseph Joseph bin and I'm not impressed with the quality. It has rusted and tarnished really quickly considering the cost! Personally I woud stick with brabantia in the future (although I know Joseph Joseph stuff is really nifty and well designed so it is tempting!)

I'd definitely go with Brabantia. I've always found JosephJoseph to be a bit style-over-substance and lots of their things don't last, I find.

John Lewis own brand one is brilliant, I've had mine over 20 years & it never wobbles, is easy to put up & holds a complete shirt back to iron in one go. The covers are cheap when it needs replacing.

I thought it was too.

I was thinking "why do you want to name the poor bugger after a bin?".

We have a brabantia one, it's circa 15 years old and still going strong. Never seen a Joseph one but in not always impressed with their stuff sometimes they can be style over function.

Same here, got here from Active Conversations. I was going to come and say Joseph's a lovely name, but Brabantia sounds like a kitchen bin.
