Has anyone stayed at any of these? Which is the nicest?

Looking for the one with the nicest rooms, that is quiet, and has wonderful food.

There's a new one opened a couple of moths ago here that looks fab. You can sometimes get a half price room on lastminute.com too (as long as it's not a weekend that there's rugby on!)

When are you planning to go?

Sorry, really don't like the look of that one (and v. annoying website).

Going first week in Dec and can't be flexible on dates.

Well, I've been in the Balmoral, and it's very nice, but it can be quite noisy and some of the rooms are small. I've not been in either of the others, but I've heard good things about them both. Have a good time.

This probably isn't very helpful as i have no experience of the three hotels you wanted feedback on but whenever I go to Edinburgh, I stay at the Cali and it is lovely

I would put my vote in for the Balmoral. Have been there four times and would go back again.

I guess we've been lucky as we've always had large rooms. If you do go, I would recommend going down for breakfast rather than room service. Much better. Didn't like brekkie at the Scotsman but then it's not all about food, is it

I thought the Scotsman was fantastic. Very comfortable room, lovely bathroom and all round very special.
Lovely pool area with sauna/steam etc and wonderful food in the brasserie.
I loved the fact that you can order your breakfast or room service to be delivered into a hatch, much more private than someone coming into your room and you can order it to come so its there waiting for you when you get back in from your swim etc.
