We recently went on our first ever AI package holiday with a toddler and a baby. Have always done self-catering before, but now we have small kids we realised the main thing we wanted a holiday from was the drudgery of shopping, cooking, tidying up etc., and trying to eat out and do more than one small outing a day with an almost-3-year-old doesn't tend to go well.
Anyway, we aren't tied to school holidays at the moment, so we got a pretty good deal at the Tui Blue Sensatori Akra Sorgun in the Antalya region of Turkey, and it was good! The food was nice, the pools were fine for small kids, it wasn't crowded or too hot (April), and the staff were all lovely. Would happily do it again, and am thinking ahead to autumn or next spring. BUT we mainly picked this resort because you can get a family room with two separate bedrooms, and this seems very hard to search for on holiday sites. And even if lots of resorts (even fancy schmancy ones like IKOS) say they have them, when you look at the room plans most seem to have the kids' bedroom in between the main bedroom/balcony and the entrance door/bathroom. I've done a diagram to show what I mean: our room had an entrance vestibule and then two separate doors into separate rooms which both looked out on the balcony. But even some of the more expensive rooms in our resort seemed to have twin beds in between the entrance and the double bedroom.
So: has anyone been to a nice resort with sensible two-bed family rooms? I'm looking for 4 or 5*, nice food, weather in mid-20s April or Sept/Oct, ideally non-ambitious sightseeing options accessible nearby, max 5 hour flight but really I just want not to have to creep around in the dark to get from my balcony to my toilet.
