Have a hankering for Italy and thinking of a eurocamp style thing - maybe Venetian Riviera? Ideally by the sea, with airport not far.
Any recommendations? Will be end of August time. TIA

Lido di Jesolo is lovely, not too far from Venice for a day trip, lovely beach.

Fly to Genoa and take the train along the coast.
There are lovely places like Cingue Terre and Monterosso.
You can also fly to Florence and take the train.

Be prepared for it to be very hot (30 degrees plus) in August. (This may be what you want, of course!)

Eesh I know, it's the first year we've been bound to school hols unfortunately. Is the coast likely to be slightly cooler than the lakes do you know, or is it much the same?

Thanks, do you know any good campsites along that coast at all?

Ooh thanks I'll have a look. All the Venetian Riviera camps are blending into one...

We tried going to the coast 'as it would be cooler'.

It was not.

And think 40 degrees, not 30.

Pra del torri - north of Venice, easily 2 overnight stops driving from Midlands U.K..

Several pools, right on beach, kids club, multiple restaurants, choice of accommodation from bring your own tent to a hotel on site. Best bit was the amazing fruit stand just outside selling the farmers homemade wine for very little, I brought 12 bottles back and it was some of the best wine I've hadGrin. I booked via a British (no defunct) operator but you can book direct too. If you are driving I recommend Bonn and fussen for overnights, the latter has the castles!

Union Lido is fabulous. You will need aircon though.

Try and avoid the Ferragosta holiday weekend in August ..... it's rammed. Think 40 degree heat; not 30. Make sure you have air con.

If school hols permit, prices and crowds will be considerably less after 30th August. First week September is ideal.
