Please recommend me a nice all-inclusive resort in Greece!

... or somewhere in Europe, with a nice, sandy beach, for a week in August! Just want to get away with the family (kids 7 and 12) - want warm weather, not too long a flight, nice food, family-friendly and relaxing!

Been looking online and keep finding things in the reviews that are off-putting (eg pebbly beach, or rowdy travellers etc).

Appreciate any recommendations you might have - don't mind if package or booking separately - thank you!

I was impressed with the Greek Neilsen resort I went to.

Maybe not your thing but the activities available ( and included) for adults and kids were amazing. Along with a lovely beach, food and sunshine!

I went to messini but I'm sure they are all just as good as each other.

The Greek tavernas are usually so amazing that I wouldn't do AI there. Very cheap as well.

Heading here on Sunday, reviews are amazing .

Heading here in July www.atlanticahotels.com/hotels-in-rhodos/atlantica-aegean-blue. Loved it with the family pre pandemic.

Loved a holiday in Thaasos, went half board but you could do all inclusive. It was through TUI, on the beach and with a pool. You'd need a taxi to town though, we found it worth it as we only went to town 3 times in the week, the rest of the time we ate locally in a different beach taverna every night. One of the best Greek holidays I ever had.

Blatant placemark.

Are these resorts good for sulky teenagers?

Have done Ikos and Sani with large family groups. Prefer the Ikos environment, found Sani a little bit more snobby perhaps.

Obviously quite pricey but some good deals can be had.

Atlantica Portobello Beach Royal in Kos.

It’s right on it’s on beach, which is sandy. There’s so many pools that you could choose a different one everyday. The water park is just over the road. When we went it was free, but that was because the hotel wasn’t busy due to Covid I think so it might be chargeable now. There’s a milkshake bar/ice cream parlour included in the AI, too.

I was going to suggest TUI Blue Caravel in Zante but it’s adults only. We would never have considered Zante usually but ended up there due to Covid cancellations and it was fabulous. We hired a Jeep style car and drove all over the island. I wouldn’t stay in Laganas but a lot of the island is really beautiful and there was loads to do for kids.

We went to Tui Blue Lagoon Princess, and had a great time with a pre teen. So much to do for all the age groups and a beachfront location. The food was very good too.

We have been to many of these over the years - Atlantica usually are good, been to ones in Crete Corfu and Rhodes.

Grumpy teens are best if they are allowed to take a friend I find, so we have gone for a villa this year, within walking distance of stuff

We did ikos andalusia last year and we're so impressed we're going back this year, trying corfu out. Would highly recommend

Wow, thank you so much for the suggestions! I'll start looking through all of these and see what we can afford Smile

Another vote for Ikos, been to a few of them across Greece and it has always been amazing and reasonable price for what you get.

We went to Ikos Corfu last year. Wouldn’t recommend it but we weren’t travelling with kids. We’re not keen on large hotels though, prefer more intimate hotels and the food was also a bit hit and miss.

Ikos looks lovely but so, so pricey! A shame really. Like the look of the Atlantica hotels, availability is limited though.

@billycorn Did you not like Ikos because it was too family-oriented?

@Splatling too late for this year but worth knowing you get up to 20% off ikos if you book more than 10 months (I think) in advance. That's 2023 sorted!
