Just come back from Menorca viva menorca, was lovely so looking for next yrs hols already and as dd will be 11 I think she would benefit from a bit more and now ds can swim maybe him too so am tentatively sussing out for next yr - wondering about a holiday village in again menorca, benlamadena or Portugal - anyones thoughts on them - it does concern me they may be a bit big? Id like to be near a beach too. If anyone has any recs I would be most grateful. I only want a 3 hr max hop as I despise flying and it has to be all inclusive for us because that made our holiday therefore food needs to be outstanding.

We love viva menorca! I have been tempted by the holiday villages but always go back to viva menorca, the restaurant is great and they keep adding new things each year. That said if you want something similar a few friends have gone to hotel pasadise or paradiso in menorca, whoch is just down the road from viva menorce and has slides etc.

We have also been toviva cala mesquida. The transfers can be a bit long depending if you are the first or last pick up. If you are the last it is about an hour, but if you are the first, it took 2 hours plus, not great with toddlers!
However, viva cala mesquida in majorca was great. It is right on the doorstep of a lovely beach. The restaurant was not as nice as menorca, but it has been a few years since we went and they were making changes when we went.

Also, another friend recommends hotel bonnaire, only thomsons go there, and that also has a pirate ship.

The holiday villages do look great though, they all look fab but Rhodes looks to be my favourite.

ooooooooooo interesting, will look at other vivas as well, my dd will be 11 soon and I think she was already aware she was the oldest in the pirate pool this year hence maybe moving away from a splash pool to something more - that said she loved the big pool anyway and dh thinks we should stick with a viva - so wish they would open another elsewhere on menorca! It has to allow inflatables because my holiday hobby is floating round the pool on my lilo!
