What do you think? I love it, but worry it sounds a bit disney / frilly / cheap?

It's my daughter's middle name. She's nearly 23 and no complaints as yet. 😊

Lovely name.

My friend's 19yo daughter is called Jasmine. It is a lovely name. It is often shortened to Jas but equally lovely.

It's beautiful - has lovely connotations. I know one who goes by Jaz and has an older sister called Olivia. Minnie as a nickname is cute on a baby as well.

Hmmm, I'm not that keen. Funny thing is I love the flower - it's beautiful and one of my favourite scents. But I do tend to associate the name with frilly princess vibes!

That said, I have a very low tolerance for frilliness. And I'm sure once I met a Jasmine irl I wouldn't think that.

It's a very pretty name. Not tacky, no.

Have you considered the older English version, Jessamine (or Jessamyn)? Even prettier IMO and then you have the option of the short form 'Jess', which is nicer than Jazz I think.

I'm not a fan but only because I know a couple who aren't nice people!

I have always loved it

You said honest. I think it’s quite tacky as it puts me in mind of air freshener and strippers, which is a shame as I like the plant.
I also knew one at school and she got called jizz-mine.
I see I’m in the minority though.

I really like Jasmine, I think it's a lovely name. I definitely don't think it sounds Disney, frilly or cheap. The first thing that came to my mind was the flower Jasmine and flower names are classics.

It's very pretty. Not sure if it had a surge of popularity 20 years ago but three girls in DS's friendship group are called Jasmine!

I have a teenage Jasmine so obviously I like it!

I've known several - would now be in 20s. Also Muslim girls names Yasmine and Yasmina.

It's ok. Bit 90s but a perfectly reasonable name.

I'm with you. I think it's a "cheap" sounding name - left school at 16, still living and working in the dumpy town she was born in.
