So is the Doubletree Hilton near the Lighthouse Centre in the city? Got a fairly decent price and it has a pool for DS so wanting to book but not sure where it is in the city. We are coming by train

Can't comment on what it's like. But in terms of location, it's on Cambridge St which is at the top of the town. Not too far a walk from queen street station. Along sauchiehall street. Good central location
It's not that close to The Lighthouse tho

None of the Hilton hotels are particularly close to the Lighthouse AFAIK. Which street is it on? Cambridge Street one is good and well located for the city centre. Which station would you arrive at?

It's about a 15min walk from the Lighhouse. It's a nice hotel, just been re-vamped. I use the conference facilities for work. I've not stayed in the rooms but I think they are probably fine.

Location wise, it's very central, not the nicest bit of Glasgow but okay

Wow it’s nowhere near the lighthouse. Not the nicest part of the city centre but easy walking distance to everything and by not nice i mean shabby and a bit run down.

Maybe I just walk fast but it's 20mins tops. Down Sauchiehall Street then West Nile Street

You’d be better staying at a hotel in George Square if you want to be close to the lighthouse.

You will get a warm cookie on arrival though Hmm

It's a lovely hotel but that end of the town is a mess just now Sad

It’s a 15 minute walk, and it’s fine. It’s opposite the wee curry shop which does great curries.

Well after all that we've booked Premier Inn on Georges Square!!!! It was ridiculously cheap and ideal location plus the times we would be in the hotel kids cant use the pool at the Hilton so didnt book in the end!!

You can take the kids to any of the council swimming pools anyway, there's loads in Glasgow.

Not sure about some of these replies. Cambridge st is really handy for the Lighthouse.
