This dual bin has revolutionised my kitchen - and it’s now on offer for Black Friday

I never thought I’d be this obsessed over a kitchen bin, but the EKO Morandi is, quite simply, a game-changer. And it’s heavily discounted in the Black Friday sale.

EKO Morandi kitchen bin

I’ve spent months - and I mean literally MONTHS - searching for the right dual kitchen bin after my budget single bin broke after only two months of use.

But dual kitchen bins are unnecessarily expensive. I’ve been lusting after the Mumsnetter favourite Joseph Joseph Totem, but have never quite been able to swallow the cost - although this is thankfully now also on sale for £126 at Amazon during Black Friday.

So when I recently discovered the bestselling but more affordable EKO Morandi, I rushed to buy it immediately, especially as the 40-litre version is now heavily discounted in the John Lewis Black Friday sale, with a whopping 20% off!

This kitchen bin is unique in that it slots together with other EKO Morandis to create a dual or even triple bin depending on your needs. With 40-litre, 30-litre and 20-litre options available, it fits seamlessly into any kitchen, no matter the size. As I have limited kitchen space, finding a dual bin with a small footprint was particularly important.

And this bin doesn’t disappoint. It has an easy touch-open lid with a mechanism that feels robust and you can use any supermarket bin liners you like - no need to go with EKO’s more pricey own brand.

I use one bin for general household waste and the other for recycling, the latter of which has been a game-changer with a curious toddler at home who kept getting into our plastic recycling box, which sat unattractively in the corner of the kitchen for way too long.

So if you’re in the market for a new dual kitchen bin, I’d urge you to snap up the EKO Morandi Black Friday deal while it’s on offer as you can now get two bins for just £75 instead of £94. But hurry because it won’t last long!

What Mumsnet users say
OliveHenry · Tried & Tested
I bought an EKO one a few years ago. I was fed up [with] fighting plastic ones where the lid fell off every time you looked at them. Coupled with Bacofoil Elastifit bin liners, it's been truly life-changing and I don't regret a penny!

Our verdict

Minimalist, unobtrusive and slimline enough for even the smallest of kitchens, the EKO Morandi Rectangular Kitchen Bin is a bestseller for a reason.

It has an interlocking design which means you can transform it from a single to a double (or even triple) bin with a single click - a revelation within a market littered with overpriced dual kitchen bins.

We like how compact it is and that you can use any bin liner with it. The bin liner holder is also removable so that you can easily discard your waste once the bin is full.

When is Black Friday 2023?

Black Friday 2023 officially launches on 24 November, but lots of top brands have announced early sales and savings including John Lewis, Amazon, Oodie, Ninja and Shark. It's well worth keeping an eye out for bargains throughout the whole month as it's likely more retailers will cut prices on popular products before the main event. The MNHQ deal hunters will be beavering away to source savings on products that we know Mumsnetters love and recommend.
