Keeping kids entertained can sometimes feel like a full time job, but thanks to Sky Kids’ new TV channel there’s plenty of fun shows both old and new to entertain and inspire - and it’s available all day long.

The channel (available on EPG 609 Sky) has been specially designed to move with you so it caters to you and your family’s needs throughout the day. Aimed at kids from birth up to seven years old, the shows will include fun themes like singing and dancing, arts and crafts, music and educational activities. Even better, it’s ad-free and available 24 hours a day - which is so important for those early morning wake ups!

Our Mumsnet users are already big fans of the Sky Kids app, where children can easily find and watch thousands of episodes of their favourite shows, so we’ve no doubt this new Sky Kids channel will be well received.

Take a look at some of the amazing programmes available on Sky Kids’ brand new channel…

1. Pip and Posy

Pip and Posy

Children who enjoy reading the picture book collection of the same name, illustrated by Axel Scheffler, will love this Sky Kids Original series. It follows Pip and Posy, a mouse and a rabbit, and their fun adventures and lessons learnt through play.

Aimed at children aged three and above, this series celebrates friendship and the fun young children can have together, while learning about the ups and downs of life as a preschooler. The short 15 minute episodes are perfect for keeping a young child entertained and parents will be able relate to many of the scenarios - from Posy forgetting her favourite toy for a sleepover to Pip being afraid of the dark.

2. Miffy’s Adventures Big and Small

Miffy’s Adventures Big and Small

Aimed at the younger viewers, Miffy is a bunny who loves to go on adventures. Inspired by the children’s books by Dick Bruna, these are short episodes (around eight minutes) which is the perfect length for toddlers as young as 18 months to enjoy.

The main character, Miffy, lives in a little red house with red shutters and a red roof and she loves to spend time with her friends. They go out to explore, discovering new things and learning about the world around them. Each episode teaches children about friendship and aims to inspire them to go on adventures.

3. Epic Adventures of Morph

Epic Adventures of Morph

You may well remember Morph from your own childhood as he first appeared on our screens back in 1977. In this Sky Kids Original series, Morph, a small plasticine man who lives on a tabletop, reunites with his gang of friends to get up to their usual antics.

Shot using clay and stop-frame animation just like the original format, Morph ventures further than the desktop and explores the wider world, getting up to all sorts of mischief along the way. Full of action and humour, this is a show that can be enjoyed by children as young as three and parents alike - so it’s one you may want to sit down and enjoy with them!

4. Where's Wally

Where's Wally

No children’s book collection is complete without this well-loved series of search and find books created by illustrator, Martin Handford. Children can enjoy even more Where’s Wally fun with this franchise favourite soon to be available to watch on Sky Kids.

The series follows the stripey jumpered adventurer, Wally, and his friend, Wenda, as they use their problem-solving skills and the help of an international wizard society to stop a rival globetrotter, Odlulu, from using his magic to stir up trouble.

5. Clifford

Clifford

Meet Clifford - a little red dog that grew 20-foot-tall. He loves stories and going on adventures with his owner, Emily Elizabeth. Originally a book series by Norman Bridwell and more recently made into a film, this TV series is all about Clifford and his owner, Emily Elizabeth, who explore their home, Birdwell Island.

Each episode of this charming series encourages imaginative play and teaches children about social-emotional skills. So it’s both educational and fun!

6. Lellobee City Farm

Lellobee City Farm

With catchy music and fun games, this show is sure to get your toddlers up dancing. Lellobee City Farm is a music-based show set on an urban micro farm where children come together to learn life skills through catchy songs and play.

Featuring singing vegetable patches, friendly talking farm animals, an endless supply of tools and vehicles, Lellobee City Farm will have preschoolers singing and laughing along with each episode. Be warned, you may soon be joining in the fun too!

7. Ready, Eddie, Go!

Ready, Eddie, Go!

Launching as a new Sky Original, this series is about the loveable character Eddie who is autistic. The show is based on the books, Eddie’s Series, written by award-winning author Nikki Saunders, to help children learn about their autism diagnosis.

The show follows Eddie as he navigates new experiences and environments. Aimed at children aged three and above, each episode helps him prepare for new encounters in real life, such as going to the barbers. We love that this programme celebrates diversity, while helping young children who have been diagnosed to prepare socially and emotionally for real life situations.

8. My Friend Misty

My Friend Misty

This exciting new Sky Kids Original show was executive produced by Fearne Cotton. Featuring the character Misty (voiced by Daisy Haggard) who surprises a group of children with magical visits, the series has been created to help build kids emotional resilience.

Getting young children to express and manage their emotions can be difficult, but this show can help children deal with their feelings, including offering tips and exercises they can do to help them in difficult situations. We think it’s one that will be enjoyed by both parents and children.

Fearne Cotton, Executive Producer, said: “I'm very excited for you all to meet My Friend Misty. This show will introduce us to a host of characters and situations where differing emotions crop up. Misty is always on hand to help the children in the show through their emotion, whilst causing a little mischief along the way. It's a fun, colourful and explorative show for both kids and parents. 9. The Brilliant World of Tom Gates

The Brilliant World of Tom Gates

Tom Gates loves doodling and biscuits. Based on the award-winning book series, The Brilliant World of Tom Gates, which documents his everyday trials and tribulations at home and at school, this Sky Kids Original is a combination of animation and live action to bring Tom’s world to life - including his crazy sense of humour!

Featuring interactive games, gags and catchy songs that fans of the books may recognise, the show provides plenty of activities and entertainment to engage children from the age of six and up. Creative kids can also try some of Tom’s craft ideas following his helpful tips and tricks.

10. Dino Club

Dino Club

Dino fans will love learning all about their favourite prehistoric animals in this fun but educational series, Dino Club. Hosted by Ayo and Harriet, viewers will go on exciting adventures as they travel into the past to discover interesting facts about dinosaurs.

Aimed at children aged five and above, they will enjoy learning strange and surprising truths about these fascinating prehistoric giants.
