Video: Mayra Bueno Silva’s cut is so bad (and bloody) Dana White won’t let her get close | UFC 303

A women’s bantamweight slugfest ended early tonight (Sat., June 29, 2024) at UFC 303 LIVE on ESPN+ PPV from inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, as Mayra Bueno Silva suffered a gaping cut above her right eye by way of a nasty Macy Chiasson elbow.

Both women did good work in the first round, but Silva seemed to have the better power in her strikes. Chiasson went to her grappling in the second round and gained top control early on. That’s when she launched a vicious elbow that slammed into Silva’s head and immediately cut her open. Blood started to spill everywhere.

The cut looked bad enough for the referee to call a pause to the action and bring in the cageside doctor. After a close look, the doctor believed the cut was too deep (almost down to the bone) and put an official stop to the fight. Silva tried to protest and continue the fight, but the decision was already made. It was a shame because the women’s fight was turning into a really solid scrap.

As for the cut, that ended up being pretty gruesome and really bloody. Even UFC CEO Dana White didn’t want to get close to Silva after she came over following the conclusion of the fight. Check it out below:
