July 23: Reinstated INF/OF from 10-day IL; optioned OF to Triple-A Albuquerque
Bryant returned to Coors Field on July 22 after a Triple-A rehab assignment during which he played right field, designated hitter, and first base on successive days, going 6-for-11 with two home runs and four singles. The 32-year-old has been limited to 24 games with the Rockies this season, hitting .186 with two homers in that span. Bouchard has hit .187 with 12 walks and seven doubles in 31 games this year.

July 22: RHP placed on the 15-day injured list with right elbow inflammation; RHP recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque
Márquez made his first start since April 10, 2023, on the Sunday before the All-Star break in New York. He threw four innings and let up three runs, all earned, on five hits and four walks while striking out three. He threw 70 pitches, and when the Rockies got back together in Colorado after the break, he found his arm hadn’t responded the way he’d like after a start.

“Through Friday and Saturday, Germán’s arm just didn't bounce back from the start in New York,” manager Bud Black said. “He was fired up in New York. He was turning the ball loose, and it was probably the right thing to do, to put him on the injured list. Better safe than sorry. We'll let this calm down a little bit, hopefully just a couple of weeks.”

Black said the new issue is in a different spot than where the surgery was, and different from the triceps soreness on his previous setback toward the end of his rehab. The inflammation is on the inside of his elbow, essentially his upper forearm.

“It stems probably from his last game in Hartford and again in New York, where his pitch count got up and the intensity was raised.”

10-DAY/15-DAY INJURED LIST

RHP (right elbow inflammation)
Expected return: TBD
Placed on the IL on July 22 (retroactive to July 19), Márquez was “feeling better” on July 23, according to manager Bud Black.

“Tonight was his night to pitch, and he feels pretty good, but we didn’t want to take that chance with him,” Black said. “He’ll get the ball in his hand in a couple of days and play some catch.”

Márquez made his season debut on July 14 against the Mets after missing 445 days because of Tommy John surgery, but he had been experiencing inflammation on the inside of his elbow in the days following his start and during the All-Star break. (Last updated: July 23)

OF (lower back strain)
Expected return: Late July
Rockies manager Bud Black said the club doesn't have “a total game plan” for Jones, who was placed on the 10-day injured list on July 13 (retroactive to July 12).

“He’s feeling better -- that’s the main thing,” Black said. “With Nolan, it starts with that. If he gets through the next couple of days, we’ll probably have a little bit more of a plan.” (Last updated: July 23)

OF (broken left hand; Rockies No. 3 prospect)
Expected return: Late July
After spending time with the Rockies on the last homestand, Beck is at the team’s complex in Scottsdale, Ariz.

“He’s feeling really good,” Black said. “He’s taking batting practice off the machine, off coaches, gaining strength.”

Beck played in 23 games with the Rockies before his injury, hitting .190 with two homers, eight RBIs, one walk and 30 strikeouts.

“No timetable on his return,” Black said. “We're trying to get the doctors to help nudge this timetable because he feels good. He's getting closer. He's gonna start playing games pretty quick, and then we'll keep an eye on him and hope he gets hits and plays good so he can come back to the Majors." (Last updated: July 19)

60-DAY INJURED LIST

RHP (Tommy John surgery)
Expected return: Possibly late this season
Manager Bud Black said Senzatela will “possibly face some hitters on this road trip” -- a 10-gamer starting July 26.

“He’s going to throw to our hitters in Anaheim, and again in San Diego,” Black elaborated. “Then from there, a potential rehab assignment. We thought all along that he was going to pitch this year in September. It might be a little bit before that, though.” (Last updated: July 23)

LHP (Tommy John surgery, shoulder discomfort)
Expected return: Second half of the season
Gilbreath has started throwing to hitters at the team’s facility in Scottsdale and could see game action the week of July 22 as part of his rehab.

“Gilbreath is gonna throw [live batting practice [July 20],” Black said. “He'll face hitters without the cage. He'll face his own Arizona Complex League Rockies [July 20], and then if that goes well, he's gonna throw in a game against another organization on [July 23] or [July 24.]”

If things continue to progress, Black projected a Triple-A rehab stint as the next step for Gilbreath. (Last updated: July 19)

RHP (right forearm)
Expected return: 2025
Bard, who tore the meniscus in his left knee while playing catch prior to Spring Training and underwent surgery, had a setback rehabbing and had season-ending surgery on his right arm on May 1. The Rockies placed him on the 60-day IL to add left-hander Ty Blach to the active roster.

Bard, 38, is in the final year of a two-year, $19 million contract. Bard has said he would like to return after a year of rehab, but he will see how he feels and consult his family before committing to pitching again. Read more >> (Last updated: May 1)
