The latest blockbuster in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is finally available to stream, as The Marvels lands on Disney+. The 2023 superhero film acts as a sequel to 2019’s Captain Marvel and the Disney+ series miniseries Ms. Marvel and sees the return of Oscar-winner Brie Larson as former pilot Carol Danvers.

In The Marvels, Carol – AKA Captain Marvel – has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and taken revenge on the Supreme Intelligence, but unintended consequences see her shouldering the burden of a destabilised universe. When her duties send her to a wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entangled with those of Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) – AKA Ms. Marvel – and Carol’s estranged niece and S.A.B.E.R. astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris).

Together, this unlikely trio must team up and learn to work in concert to save the universe as The Marvels. The film also stars Zawe Ashton as Kree leader Dar-Benn and Samuel L. Jackson, who returns as Nick Fury.

The 33rd feature in the long-running franchise, The Marvels forms part of the MCU’s Phase Five – The Multiverse Saga – and precedes Ryan Reynolds’ hotly anticipated Deadpool threequel. But until then, here’s when The Marvels is coming to Disney+ and how to watch it for free with some money-saving deals.

How to watch The Marvels for free on Disney+

The Marvels is available to stream on Disney+, which Marvel fans can join for as little as £4.99 a month. This includes loads of Marvel films and shows including Loki, Echo and the upcoming Agatha: Darkhold Diaries, plus the biggest and best Star Wars content like the soon-to-be-released The Acolyte and Skeleton Crew

Disney+ is also home to hit shows like The Bear, The Artful Dodger, Modern Family and hundreds of hours of Disney, Pixar and National Geographic content including Encanto, Lightyear and A Real Bug’s Life. Disney is also launching the hotly anticipated samurai saga Shōgun in February.

There’s no hidden cost with a monthly Disney+ subscription and it can be cancelled at any time, while customers can save money if they sign up for an annual subscription. By paying annually, new members can get the equivalent of two months free on Disney+’s Standard or Premium plans, which usually cost £7.99 a month and £10.99 a month respectively.

Anyone who buys an S24, S24+ or S24 Ultra device from Virgin Media can get a choice of Disney+ free for six months or free Apple Music for six months.
