Some Android users would be wise to check their settings and download the very latest software update without delay. That's the latest warning from Google after the US technolgy giant released a patch that fixes a whopping 50 issues on its own-brand Pixel devices.

If that wasn't bad enough, seven of those bugs 50 have been given a worrying "Critical" rating and one has received the dreaded "zero-day" stamp.

For those not in the know, zero-day means the bug has already been spotted and it's being actively exploited by hackers.

That's why there's such a sense of urgency and you shouldn't hang around if you have a Pixel device in your pocket.

"The Pixel Update Bulletin contains details of security vulnerabilities and functional improvements affecting supported Pixel devices," Google said in its advisory notes.

"All supported Google devices will receive an update to the 2024-06-05 patch level. We encourage all customers to accept these updates to their devices.

Explaining more about the Zero-day issue, Google added: "There are indications that CVE-2024-32896 may be under limited, targeted exploitation."

It's unclear if any Pixel phones have been attacked in the wild but it's better to be safe than sorry. These are the list of Pixels that should be able to download the patch

PIXEL 8 - Pixel 8a, Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro

OTHER PIXELS - Pixel 7a, Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro and Pixel Fold
