Salford hooker Amir Bourouh is excited about starting a “new era” with Hull FC after agreeing to join them next season.

Bourouh, 23, has signed a three-year deal starting from 2025. With long-serving Danny Houghton likely to retire, he will look to make the No9 role his own at the East Yorkshire club. He becomes their third new recruit for the new season alongside Leigh captain John Asiata and on-loan Catalans playmaker Jordan Abdull.

Bourouh, who grew up in Halifax and came through Wigan’s ranks to make his Super League debut, has established himself as Salford’s main rake this term. He said: “First and foremost, I want to say a huge thank you to everybody at Salford for the last three years.

"I’ve loved my time at the club and I appreciate everything Paul Rowley, the coaching staff and my team-mates have done for me.

“My focus is on ending my time at Salford in the best way possible and my promise to the supporters and everyone at the club is to put all my effort into making sure that happens.”

Hull FC’s director of rugby Myler, added: “Amir is an exciting young talent who we’re really pleased to add to our ranks for next season, adding some important depth to the hooker role.

“He has come through an exceptional youth system at Wigan not so long ago which has instilled some great personal and playing qualities in him, which have been visible when he’s been on the field over the last couple of seasons. He’s a bright young man with a great Rugby League head on his shoulders.

“We’re confident that we as a club can provide a platform for him to continue to develop himself as a player – as a young English hooker who will still only be 24 by the time he starts next season, we’re getting him at a really exciting stage of his career as he starts to approach his prime playing years.”
