Brentford star Ivan Toney has said he is “ready” for a mega money switch should one come calling.

The England frontman has long been linked with a big move following his exploits with the Bees. Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea are all noted admirers.

With just a year remaining on his contract, interest in Toney could well crank up later this summer. Asked by talkSPORT about potential moves post-Euro 2024, the 28-year-old said: "I’m a Brentford player. I have a year left. Going into a major tournament, that is my main focus now. But after this, I’ll be going back to Brentford and I will be a Brentford player still.

“It’s nice to be linked with other clubs. But I’ve had this in the past. Nothing is done until it’s done. Like I said, I’m a Brentford player and I’m focused on doing well for Brentford for the upcoming season. That’s the main thing."

Further probed if he is primed to make a big move in the near future, Toney confirmed that he was prepared. He added: "Obviously, if it was to come, I would be ready regardless. But I’ve got to remain focused and not let other things and other noise get the best of me and just focus on what I need to do for my club."

While Toney has admitted that he could be ready to leave Brentford in the near future, his suitors could be looking at other options. Arsenal were interested in signing him but appear to have moved on.

They had prioritised a move for RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko before he committed his future to the German side. That saw the Gunners move on to other positions in their side - a new winger at the top of their list.

Chelsea are keen to sign a new forward but appear to be more keen on Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, while talks are ongoing to sign Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran. Man United are potentially in the marker for a new forward but have Bologna’s Joshua Zirkzee at the top of their list.

Toney is currently spending time with the England squad. He is fresh off the back of a tricky campaign with Brentford.

After missing the first five months of the campaign due to an FA betting ban, he returned to score four goals and provided two assists in the Premier League. Toney will have hoped that his form was good enough to be afforded an opportunity by Gareth Southgate.

England take on Serbia in their first Euro 2024 group game on Sunday evening. Harry Kane is expected to lead the line for the Three Lions.
