Gary Neville is primed for a special edition of the Stick To Football podcast during Euro 2024, but Jamie Carragher won't be joining him.

Fellow pundits Ian Wright, Roy Keane and Jill Scott will be joining the former England and Manchester United star on the televised special, having appeared on multiple previous editions. Carragher, another regular, will play no part, though.

"Join me, Roy, Jill & Wrighty for a special Euro's edition tomorrow night at 10:45pm on ITV1," Neville announced on social media on Thursday. "We'll also be bringing it to YouTube so have a watch if you like".

"This is the best news!!!!!" one fan wrote in reply. Others were similarly excited by the prospect of watching Neville et al on ITV, but some were sad to learn Carragher wouldn't be involved. No specific reason has been given for Carragher's absence. However, the 46-year-old is spending the upcoming weekend away at Glastonbury Festival.

"No Carra No party. Sorry Gary but thats a boring panel" wrote one. Another called for Carragher or Neville's former Manchester United team-mate Wayne Rooney to join the panel.

Rooney has been part of the BBC's coverage of the Euros, with Neville on ITV. However, the former England forward has cut short his time with the broadcaster due to his pre-season responsibilities after being appointed as Plymouth Argyle manager.

While Neville didn't specify topics of conversation in his post about the show, he has been vocal on the subject of England's performances at the Euros, also responding to manager Gareth Southgate and his squad members taking issue with criticism from ex-players. Southgate's side topped their group despite scoring just twice - a repeat of their progress at Euro 2020 - and will face Slovakia in the round of 16 on Sunday.

"Gareth and the players have handled the media extremely well over the last three tournaments," Neville said on ITV. "What they mustn't do is go down a rabbit hole and think they're the only ones getting criticised if they don't play well.

"Referring back to times gone by, this is football criticism that we're seeing. We're talking about tactics, positions, who should come in at midfield alongside Declan Rice. They are genuine conversations because there's a genuine disappointment so far this tournament.

"Previously it's been very personal, an annihilation of individuals, I'm not seeing that so don't go down a rabbit hole thinking it's really unfair."
